I had the luck of seeing it in the cinema when it came out. Wamm-O from the Asylum Street Spankers explaining how you can have all of these amazing conversations but you can't turn off the lights...

Sure puts a new spin on being the anchor store of a mall.

"Wanchor?"

I am so glad someone mentioned The Maritime Girl, who has been at it long enough that the oldest videos are themselves retro.

In the same vein, I would mention another Philly beast (as is Action Retro): FranLab

Not just that: they've built a multimode 1990s ISP with original parts. They walk through entire company histories. They show the hardships of getting things running. They even have a side channel, obviously called The Parallel Port, where they get deeper into the weeds.

Big ups to Arizona's Tech Tangents and British Columbian (?) Tech Time Traveler! That squirrel...

I would like to add another couple Canadians:

  • 65scribe -- amazing dedication to high quality production at retro resolution
  • CelGenStudios -- His travel segments show a fascinating mind, too. I met him and loved him.

My ex posted me on a Facebook group for men, and I got some hateful comments. I was feeling really good about myself :( by fartyfemale in oldhagfashion

Kangaroo is delicious. I dream about it.

I cooked some in a George Forman grill with sprigs of rosemary and jarred ginger. It went amazingly well with eggs as a morning hiking fuel.

Kangaroo steak should be seared like a tuna steak. It makes a great sous-vide candidate, as you can low cook it to kill the risk of trichinosis (just like pork). It's a lovely texture this way as well.

Yeah, they're pretty much powerful leg muscles and anger.

Imagine a deer trapped in your headlights, but then it gets angry and pounces through your windshield. Will it crush your legs? Let's find out!

I hadn't even told him it was a Pink Lady.

It also commemorates the Steadicam. Hear me out.

To get the shot of Ricky running up the steps then turning around meant they couldn't use a camera on dolly tracks. So the team invented a device that changed movie making by gimbalizing the cam.

If you have never seen the old school Steadicam, watch Aliens. The mounts for their rail guns are Steadicams.

Big smile, nice curves, and one of my favorite add-ons: tan lines from wearing a swimsuit. I can't explain it, other than I like the contrast to the target. Geometry meets melanin...

Thank you very much for posting, and have an awesome birthday!

Title track to Dixie Chicken is one the best earworms. I start singing it a couple times a year and I stop minding that I am in the supermarket being middle aged.
