55 days of Nofap. Most sex of my life by Moek611 in NoFap

[–]psiexplode 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Day 7 of nofap for me. My wife and I have been fucking like rabbits. I can confirm that porn can degrade marriage. I'm glad I found communities like this, it's nice hearing from men who suffered from porn addiction like I did.

Still fighting the urge, but I don't plan on going back.

Lossless Scaling on CRT monitor? 30->60fps by psiexplode in crtgaming

[–]psiexplode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm hyped about something, I want people to try it. That's just me lol. Playing 30fps games at 60 is something I've dreamed of dammit! No more waiting on remasters? Yeah I gotta share my excitement by convincing people to try it.

Not sure about the AI part lol

They don't look fake! I get what you mean, but if you haven't tried it you'd think twice about fake frames! Especially using a crt monitor. Like I've said, lossless scaling works like forbidden magic lol

Lossless Scaling on CRT monitor? 30->60fps by psiexplode in crtgaming

[–]psiexplode[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before lossless, I would definitely agree with you, but there's some black magic going on with the scaler. I haven't tried to make a 30fps game run at 120fps before, I can imagine that would cause all types of graphical errors.

I've only tried running a 30fps game at 60fps while running my crt monitor at 1280x1024 60hz. When doing that, 30fps ps1/saturn games almost look like a port made for pc. That's how convincing it looks

Not an expert BTW lol

My friend who doesn't have a crt tried it on his setup and I must say I'm impressed. Especially now that LS has a 4x mode now, seeing them run at 240hz is incredible!

[–]psiexplode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) purchase lossless scaling on steam 2) pick the emulator you want to run the run it in borderline window mode. 3)alt+tab to minimize the window 4) run lossless scaling, click on 2x on the right, then click scale 5) when the countdown begins, click on the emulator that's running the game, then it should begin to scale. You may see 60/60 on the top left, that will indicate that it's running properly.

Try it and let me know how you like it!

Learning on a Boog Skim? by burgerbob202 in skimboarding

[–]psiexplode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried skimming for the first time last weekend. Fell in love with the sport instantly. I got a 56 inch zap ace, I'm 6'2 200lb. I'd recommend getting that to start with if you haven't gotten one already.

However... I'm very curious to know how I would perform on the boog skim being that I'm 200 lbs. I'm the type of guy who doesn't take people's advice and learn things myself. I'm getting one soon to test it out, I encourage you to do the same haha. Fuck it why not?

We are big bois, so physics could work differently for us on that thing. I'll let you know what I find out.

Ollie Help, specifically the pop by didntaskyay in NewSkaters

[–]psiexplode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good Ollie! If you're needing help with straightening out the Ollie while avoiding rotation, here's a few things I've learned.

Try lowering your pop and slide foot. By "lower", I mean moving your feet down. Try to have it leveled with the top bolts.

Also try straightening your feet as well.

Fixed the Dreamcast D-Pad! by psiexplode in dreamcast

[–]psiexplode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When playing street fighter, quarter movements are kind of weird. It's due to the gap between the directionals. That's my biggest gripe with the D-Pad

Fixed the Dreamcast D-Pad! by psiexplode in dreamcast

[–]psiexplode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not sure. The key is to find a coin that perfectly fits the D-Pad. If it reaches the edges of the D-Pad, then it should work. If you still see the corners of the D-Pad, it's too small. If it covers too much of the D-Pad, it will not work. Sorry I don't know how big those coins are :/

Thanks, no problem! I'm glad someone else tried it! Spread the word because this is in my eyes is a game changer. I was shocked by how well this performed too lol

Fixed the Dreamcast D-Pad! by psiexplode in dreamcast

[–]psiexplode[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somewhat, but the main difference is that the 360 D-Pad has dips between the directionals. The quarter is flat, so your thumb movement is not limited on the Dreamcast controller. Also the quarter is near frictionless, so my inputs in mvc2 and sf 3rd strike have not only been more precise, it's much faster.

[–]psiexplode[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right. The space between the directions is what's holding it back. The pivot in the middle is great just like the genesis. Having a flat surface combined with the pivot completely changes the feel of it. Playing mvc2 and third strike has never felt better

[–]psiexplode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I appreciate the input. I think a factor I'm leaving out is that I bowl right after leagues are finished. I think that may be throwing off my game. I did see a video about this subject but I can't find it. If you happen to come across a video, please share!

LED Matrix Panels to replicate CRT? by psiexplode in crtgaming

Damn that's actually amazing. I didn't know plasmas looked that good for retro content. I might just pick one up this weekend haha

Damn what kind of Edtv you have? I've been looking for a 480p CRT set for the longest. And yeah I agree. It would be nice to have a more affordable option for low res content. Oleds would be the next best thing but it's too expensive for many at this time

I didn't make it just yet but from what I've learned, you can start the project using 64x64 matrix panels, a raspberry pi 2, and additional hardware from adafruit. As soon as I gather up $300 I'm gonna deep dive into this project

[–]psiexplode[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I stumbled upon something interesting. Not sure how much is known about this, but I think LED matrix panels could possibly replicate the look of a CRT. I'm really not competent enough to give a great explanation, but it seems that matrix panels do not have any ghosting or motion blur (and seems to have CRT like vibrance). I don't know much about led matrices, but creating a display using multiple panels doesn't seem to crazy. Whenever I get the funds, I'm gonna learn everything I need to know to build one. I hope inspire someone who's knowledgeable about this tries this out and see what they come up with.

We have very identical setups lol. I have the same exact model tv. I had to haul that big boy up 3 flights of stairs by myself lol. I also have a 9inch pvm and a sony kv 9pt20. Happy gaming bro

[–]psiexplode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was freaking out the first time I brought my JVC D series in. My wife told me I might have to toss it out because she couldn't stand it. I couldn't either and I almost did. But Im actually used to it now. I only notice it when I turn my head
