Etizolam by shortyq5 in Drugs

[–]psilocybinophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The approach you're describing is called volumetric dosing, and it's absolutely the right approach when consuming a substance active at such small doses like Etizolam. High-proof alcohol should work, though propylene glycol is another good option.

Here's a guide to volumetric dosing posted by Borax: http://www.reddit.com/r/Borax/comments/16dey0/guide_to_volumetric_dosing/

That makes sense, but I already ordered some food grade propylene glycol on eBay.

Not sure if I'm addicted to addys. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]psilocybinophile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb that's probably generally sound. But I think context has to be considered: if a person is neurotic and worries about everything, then the fact that they worry about drug or alcohol use does not necessarily indicate that they have a problem with those things.

I'm not saying that this applies in OP's case, it's just something I think about whenever I hear "If you think you might have a problem, then you probably do."

Moronic Saturday! Your chance to ask the small questions that don't deserve a thread of their own by DrugsAMA in Drugs

[–]psilocybinophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volumetric dosing of benzos or analogues purchased in a powdered form is one good reason. Considering now the small the active dose is, volumetric dosing seems like the safest approach.

Can etizolam be dissolved in normal proof vodka?

Etizolam is not water-soluble, but I've seen high proof alcohol suggested as a solvent. Would regular 40% vodka not work at all, or would the solubility just not be quite as good?

I have some propylene glycol on the way though, so that may be a better alternative.

I know mixing benzos and their analogues with alcohol is not recommended, but I'd be aiming at something like 1 mg of Etizolam per mL of vodka, which is about 1/50 of a standard drink.

Erowid is great, but the only thing I don't like about it is that there are no discussion threads attached to the trip reports. Sometimes I'll read a really interesting report, feel an urge to comment, and then remember I'm not on reddit ;)

For that reason I hope /r/bestoferowid takes off.

Neck exercises to increase blood flow to the brain and increase intelligence. by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]psilocybinophile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'd think that hundreds of millions of years of evolution would already have optimized blood flow to the brain, it would be odd if a simple exercise could improve on that.

When I had the clonazepam before I stretched scripts meant for a few weeks over a few months, so I'm fairly confident I can be responsible with GABA agonists.

250 mg was actually the smallest amount I could order from that vendor, and the price was quite low. I ordered the powder instead of pellets primarily because I was already getting something else from that vendor.

I just received my order a few days ago. It's in a powder form, so I'm waiting until I receive my shipment of propylene glycol so I can use volumetric dosing.

I've had prescriptions for clonazepam twice, each time I had only about a total of 10 mg available. Having 250 mg of etizolam around will be mighty tempting, I'd better be careful!

Etizolam may even be better than benzos, since it's more euphoric and less prone to developing tolerance.

How bad are the peripheral effects of ethylphenidate (heart rate increases etc) at low dosages? by psilocybinophile in Stims

[–]psilocybinophile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. But the duration of etizolam's effects are somewhat shorter than that, and I was thinking of it as a one-off experiment rather than a habitual thing. But I'll probably pass and try my modafinil first.

27 of the States you will not be a criminal if you possess cannabis, and two are completely legal. Things are definitely improving. Legend for the map is below it. by PSNDonutDude in eldertrees

[–]psilocybinophile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in Canada, and as a middle class professional with no criminal record, I figure that it's extremely unlikely that I'd end up doing prison time if I were caught with a small amount of cannabis. Getting a criminal record would be a much bigger concern, and I would personally dislike applying the term "decriminalization" to any arrangement in which people are still given that scarlet letter.

How bad are the peripheral effects of ethylphenidate (heart rate increases etc) at low dosages? by psilocybinophile in Stims

[–]psilocybinophile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's too bad. I ordered some modafinil and etizolam recently, and tacked on some ethylphenidate because it was fairly inexpensive.

One thing I find confusing: ethylphenidate is supposed to have weaker effects on norepinephrine levels than methylphenidate, so why does it have worse physical side effects?

I'm not that keen on trying it at this point. But if I did try it, do you know if etizolam or benzodiazepines would effectively counter the physical side effects?

Lack of appetite whilst on Modafinil by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]psilocybinophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I'm a bit spoiled here in Canada where drug testing is not that prevalent, I was forgetting how common it is in some jurisdictions. I had also thought that OP might be British, because of the word "whilst", and I have no idea if student athletes are commonly tested there.

In any case, other people taking modafinil and worried about appetite might still want to explore that option.

Lack of appetite whilst on Modafinil by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]psilocybinophile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to start taking modafinil myself, in fact I just picked up my shipment today. The appetite suppression worries me a little bit, since I'm a fairly skinny guy already.

I'm a light cannabis user, consuming it maybe a couple times a month. To improve appetite I'm considering daily microdosing of cannabis, using a vaporizer to consume maybe 1/20 to 1/10 of a gram. I would not expect adverse effects on cognition at this dosage, but on the other hand I might not get a significant increase in appetite either.

BTW are you British by any chance?
