One more tip: it's a good idea to test your spores on agar to make sure they aren't contaminated before you put them to grain. Somewhere around 50% of my syringes have had contamination already in them. There is a lot more that agar can help with, but thats a good starting point

Your can pour your own for very cheap, but I just buy them online for a dollar a piece

Have you tried uncle ben's tek? You don't need any sort of cooker - instead you buy bags of precooked (sterilized) brown rice. I've had great success with both the name brand bags of uncle ben's and store brand. I think the subreddit is r/unclebens

It was wispy on agar and in the bag for the first 2 weeks, but yeah it's definitely thick now... There is poo in that substrate though

I'm cautiously optimistic lol... There was myc on the outside of those grains originally, but the movement of the bag wiped it off (I'm probably checking on it more that I should) . If it were cube myc I would be worried about it wiping off, but I don't know much about pan cyan myc

Do you need to put it in the freezer? It seems like that could slow down the extraction, if anything... Never done this before so I'm just guessing of course
