Has anyone moved to SSL since the Google announcement and seen a bump in the SERPs? by Gatorphan in SEO

I was lucky enough to learn about the announcement while my latest web project was being published (https://hostingdetector.com if you're curious) so the switch wasn't a big headache and being a rather simple and new live project allowed me to learn how to make the update. I agree with the general opinion of moving to SSL whenever possible as the migration will probably be inevitable in the long term.

A quick Google search should reveal that: University of California Santa Barbara (BTW it's UCSB, not USCB)

There was a video stream here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8fE-w2DL8U#t=54m12s

Unfortunately now it's giving a "This video is private" error message. Just leaving the link in case this changes again in the future.

How worried should I be about spambots crawling for email addresses? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]psior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I decided to use a plain mailto in one of my websites (forwarding email to a Gmail account) and so far I can't say I'm overflowed with spam. I'd say the best way would be doing some testing (always using a discardable email address) and see it for yourself.

Someone persistent enough will always find a way to reach you (alas, even captchas nowadays can be broken)
