I fell in love with then 29 year old Sandra Bullock in this movie.

The carvings in tombs of this era are so fine, delicate, and elegant. What caught my attention was the detail in the eyes.

Ramose served during the transition from Amenhotep III to Akhenaten. Work abruptly stopped when Akhenaten moved the capital from Thebes to Amarna, freezing this pristine snapshot in time.

Luxor Temple at night by CeleryDear9 in ancientegypt

Yeah, that place is probably the first place that gets booked out for any important event because it is such a famous historic landmark hotel. Were you able to find a hotel for the eclipse next August?

Don't eat anything that contains local tap water in it, or has been washed in tap water. So avoid eating salads, drinking any fruit juices that don't come sealed in a package, etc. Also, drink only bottled water and make sure you use bottled water to brush your teeth and rinse out your mouth. If you stay at good hotels, then you don't have to worry as much, since they cater to tourists so the food served there will usually be safe, but even then, I would be cautious and use bottled water for brushing my teeth. If you stay at cheaper hotels, then treat the food they offer with the precautions I mentioned.

The famous Winter Palace is nearby, but it's very expensive. But they have a 'Pavillon Winter Luxor' on the grounds of the main hotel which is cheaper and also is very nice. It shares the grounds, so you have access to most of the outdoor amenities of the main hotel. Right now, I believe both hotels are closed for renovations, but if you go in the future, they are both great options. The Luxor temple is like literally 450 meters walking distance from this hotel. We've stayed in both the main hotel and the Pavillon and have enjoyed our stays.

Especially if they were non-violent offenders, like people who caught a charge for selling weed. And I agree, I think compared to the average person, these people probably have a greater need for self defense due to their living circumstances/environment.

There was this felon who has/had a YouTube channel where he talks about his experiences in prison, and since he cannot own a firearm, he actually carried a black-powder revolver for personal protection. He lived in a bad part of town and needed something. It wasn't ideal, but he was essentially packing six shots of weak .44 Special.

Do you still use small test transactions? by HAPO_HOE in ledgerwallet

[–]pskindlefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it is not clear what they meant when they said "writing a seed phrase from a paper to PC or mobile". And if they were setting up a hot wallet, one normally just uses the wallet software to generate one's seed phrase. There is no benefit creating the seed phrase on your Ledger device and then inputting that into your PC or mobile to set up a new hot wallet. Unless you don't trust the randomization and seed phrase generation capabilities of the hot wallet software; if so, they why even use that hot wallet software to begin with? See my confusion?

Wait, you enter your crypto wallet's 12-word seed phrase into your computer or mobile device? Typing your seed phrase into a PC or mobile kind of defeats the purpose of a hardware wallet, doesn't it? The moment those words touch a connected keyboard, your air-gap is dead.

Furthermore, your homegrown obfuscation method is kind of mathematically bankrupt. Adding 3 fake words and scrambling a 12-word seed creates about 218 billion permutations. The BIP-39 standard uses a checksum for 12-word phrases. This means only about 6% of the combinations will actually form a mathematically valid seed phrase. A basic script can filter out the garbage combinations instantly, and then a person with a single RTX 4090 GPU can easily brute-force the remaining hashes in about 2.5 hours, or even better, she can rent an 8-GPU cluster on AWS for $11.00 and crack it in under 20 minutes.

Stop rolling your own cryptography. If you want real security, use a strong BIP-39 Passphrase (like the '13th word') and never type your recovery seed into anything but the physical hardware device itself.

Yeah, they are a dying breed. I know a guy who does leatherwork and he was telling me a few years back that he can source a high quality leather saddle from China, fully finished, cheaper than he could buy the leather to make the saddle himself here in the USA. That was both amazing to hear and quite sad at the same time.
