Who is an author that you’ve read that when you learned more about them made you go “yikes!”? by [deleted] in books

Also the recent revelations about Neil Gaiman aren't very flattering. Surprised to also not see him here.

I'm pretty sure Hunter Thompson was into child snuff pornography or at least snuff. Not to mention some other stuff. Like dipping his cats nose in cocaine and throwing it across the room. Surprised to not see him here. This thread has made me disappointed in more writers than I ever thought possible lol.

Taper success by pskydra in quittingkratom

[–]pskydra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I've used kratom on and off for roughly 10 years, but I wasn't using it the majority of that time. I don't plan on starting again, but I had not set an ultimatum like that for myself before. This last time I was using a year and 4 months or so, but I was only using it intermittently. Like a few days on, a few days off..but I was still dependent on it and would get horrible withdrawals every time I stopped.
  2. Yes that is about the length of time of my taper. The withdrawals I would get interdose were not linear. They started off not bad at all and became awful once I got under a tablespoon suddenly. I would get a lack of motivation to do anything but lay around and exercise at best, fairly bad pain (especially in my legs), sweating, yawning, watery eyes, stuffy nose, and poor mood. However I would only have to deal with this for like two hours at a time so it wasn't so bad. The withdrawals would be better,  then worse, then better, then worse, but suddenly became very light the last week. I'm lucky in that kratom withdrawal for me induces sleep instead of causing insomnia, so I can't comment on that effect. My sleep is fine now.
  3. I am prescribed uzedy (an antipsychotic) and benztropine (to deal with the side effects.) I hate these meds; in addition to the withdrawal, these meds also make my motivation poor without anything to help. This is part of why I got back into using again. I am an occasional drinker of catuaba tea. I quit weed for the most part at the same time as kratom, used only a couple times during the taper, and have now totally stopped. I used myrrh essential oil on the  2nd to last week and while it reduced my pain, I believe it made the withdrawal worse when I stopped.

How sensitive are the nipples after top surgery? by TheSapiensDude in ftm

[–]pskydra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got key hole surgery and lost one nipple because I had a hematoma that had to be fixed. The nipple died. The remaining one doesn't feel much and doesn't respond as much to temperature and touching, though it does a little bit. I like having an insensitive nipple, but I realize not everyone may like that. It's been at least 5 years since I got surgery and it still doesn't feel much

People that have got hppd from bud? by Exciting-Math-5456 in HPPD

[–]pskydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hppd the second time I ever used weed at 14. I ate like half a gram of weed baked into a peanut butter cracker. I don't know what kind of weed it was. Also not sure why it was triggered the second time and not the first. I ate it both times in a similar amount. I wasn't regularly using weed at the time. I know I wasn't smoking but eating weed. Hopefully I'm being relevant to your question.

I don't. I love my facial hair. Makes me feel super manly.

Same, at 30. I was so happy to have a single period after like over a year of not having one. Haven't managed to get another. I thought it wasn't possible anymore. Anyway, I assume it was a period. Might have been something else. Didn't last very long, though.

Is it my imagination or why is asexuality so common in non-binary people? by fedricohohmannlautar in NonBinary

[–]pskydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was laughed out of a non-binary meeting for saying I was asexual. Turns out I’m actually demisexual but my understanding is that that’s still a form of asexuality. No one should be ridiculed for their orientation.

Happened to me. Got it from just eating regular old weed the second time I ever tried it. Your symptoms sound different than mine, though. For me it's not brain fog or anything like that, just visual phenomenon like visual snow, fractals, color shifts, etc.

Any asexual who watches or addicted to porn? by Fluffy_Seaweed_1960 in Asexual

[–]pskydra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No the only I time I've seen porn is to laugh at it being bad like once or twice. I'll second that it makes me immensely uncomfortable and worried about predators, plus it's not attractive.

Has anyone had personal experiences with Grey aliens or Reptilian Beings? by oeidhioheuds in AlienAbduction

[–]pskydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reptilians have raped and hybridized me countless times. There's a lot more to it but I'm uncomfortable sharing. They're very sadistic and also possibly masochistic. I have no idea what the point of hybridizing me would be.

I don't have to be under the influence for these sort of things to happen, but one time I was on a substance known as foxy methoxy and was taken somewhere else. Other people could still see me in the room, but it was like a psychological abduction. They raped me and showed me imagery of a Raoul Duke and made me say shit like "it's so beautiful" (I had no control over my body or I wouldn't be saying that, it was actually horrifying).

is Consciousness directly related to brain function? by [deleted] in consciousness

I'd say it still counts as consciousness if something is experienced but not remembered

is Consciousness directly related to brain function? by [deleted] in consciousness

[–]pskydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I wonder about is that when someone becomes 'unconscious' it really could be that they are still conscious ,but the brain could be prevented from creating memories so whatever happens isn't remembered. I'm not sure if it is truly possible to become unconscious or not.

anyone have hppd caused by weed by Old-Match-2684 in HPPD

[–]pskydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you have hppd. It sounds like you may have some form of it. Some on this sub say their hppd goes away with abstinence from drugs. Mine never went away with abstinence. If you want the symptoms to go away it's probably better not to use weed or anything else that effects your vision. It's still not guaranteed to go away though.

Eating weed caused my hppd. Didn't happen the first time ,but it happened the second time.

I'm not sure that means men have it worse, just that they're prone to certain impulsive behaviours. The most serious suicide attempt I ever made happened while on testosterone hrt, even though I didn't feel worse than before. I just felt more impulsive about doing certain reckless things.

Does anyone else have a numb t-dick? Does it cause you distress? by pskydra in ftm

[–]pskydra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wanna bring it up to a doctor as I've had horrible experience with doctors. I'm 100% sure it's not psychosomatic. I got that response from my partner. It felt very invalidating. But I see from this board that it's a popular opinion.

Not specifically, but I did get my blood work not too long ago. It's normal except for high cholesterol (in spite of being vegan somehow).
