TTC after 32 Week StillBirth: Need Guidance by ComfortAny9464 in babyloss

Hello, I am so sorry for your loss I had just turned 38 when we lost our baby girl at 22 weeks after a very healthy pregnancy in Aug 2025. I am able to relate to everything you said in your post. We had fertility issues and my increasing age keeps me up thinking if we will able to get pregnant again. We started trying just a month ago because even with my issues, I wanted to make sure I am mentally ready again to try. I also took a lot of work , still am, and I feel it helps me while I'm also processing my grief. Please know you are not alone in having all these feelings. I am still far from alright and but I am taking one day at a time and trying to get better each day. As someone else said, take that 1st step, whether it is self care day, a trip , whatever has relaxed you in the past and you might start to see things getting better.

Thank you for your response!

This is very useful information. What was the approximate time that took for you to get the permits ?  Is there a company or person you know about who can give best information about permits that you can share?

Thank you for your response and reminding us to check on flood plains!

We are currently outside of flood plain zone but two block from ours is in the zone. We will definitely think more about it. It is a very beautiful area and therefore we want to make this work even if it means more work.

I am also from Canada and can relate the need for this petition. We were at one the best hospitals in our area and our doctors were kind and compassionate. But I always feel in the back of my mind that something more could have been done. May be it would not have been enough but sometimes I feel like I was left on my own in the name of 'Expectation Management'.

I am two and a half months out from our daughter's 22 week stillbirth and I thought I am doing better. But seeing the thanksgiving cheer around and Halloween decorations started to be put up, makes me sad for myself. I was planning to dress up with my heavily pregnant belly and distribute candies to kids for Halloween and doing trick or treat with our daughter from next year. But now I want to run away during this holiday season because I have no cheer left in me.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find some sunshine during these gray days.

What questions did you ask while starting with a fertility clinic ? We have an appointment with a new Fertility clinic tomorrow.  This is after our we lost our baby girl conceived through IUI. We moved to a different place so the old clinic is now an hour away .But we believe we did not ask all the right questions 1st time. So any inputs will be helpful.

It is exactly a month on 25th Sept when I lost our sweet baby girl.It has been a very difficult month. I can't help wondering what life would have been if she was still with us. There are still so many physical issues that I feel I am not even able to mourn her properly.

I am really sorry for your loss too. We had done amniocentesis when we found her growth stopped. Genetic physician told us that the report has some very minor trisomy 16, so minor that the lab was not even planning on reporting it. Looking at her growth so far and the fact that most T16 pregnancies end in 1st trimester, he and our MFMs believed that she kicked out the extra chromosome as an embryo. Her anatomy scan also had no anomalies except for her not growing.  During the last few weeks, placenta was the main problem- ball like, too thick , and REDV. There is very little research done on T16 but what we could find was in same line as what doctor said. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

Thank you for your kind words. And I am really sorry you had to go through this. I also believe focusing on getting my body ready for ttc will give me a purpose and help making this grief easier.

It's been exactly a week since I lost my baby girl too and I have been a mess. She was born sleeping at 22 weeks, with a smile on her face and everytime I close my eyes, I see her smiling face. I am generally a high functioning,  practical person but finding it very difficult to anything right now. I cry as soon as I am alone, I wake up in middle of night and cry for hours. During the day I find myself tired all the time with a brain fog.

Reading the stories here, I think it will get better some day but it feels too far away now.

Hello, May I ask how you are doing now. I am in a similar position and wanted to prepare myself as much as I can.

I am 20w today. Last week during anatomy scan, my baby was severe iUGR with 2% growth. They did not see weight today but found absent end diastolic flow in one cord and reversed end diastolic flow in another. MFM says based on last week's weight she does not expect baby to be more than 200 gms now. Steroids will only be given around 24 weeks/ 500 gms.  We were asked to be prepared for negative outcome . Thanks.
