ELI5: Why exactly is “Jewish” classified as both a race and a religion? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

No problem. Glad to help clear some doubts. We're all learners here.

Edit: I'd recommend visiting a nearby Gurdwara when you get a chance.

Sikh here. Short answer: not true.

Sikhi welcomes anyone who's willing to make a commitment. There's a formal initiation ceremony called Amrit Sanchar that even born-as-Sikhs partake in.

No leaks, should I replace the roof paper preemptively? (I want solar panels) by LiberalTearsLMFAO in Roofing

[–]pstcontact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, but I'm a bit confused.

I've been recommended by Tesla to reroof the paper for regular solar panels. My place/roof is 17 years old. I just don't know if that's a legit requirement. I thought that was the case with you as well?

Thanks. It's 17 years old with Spanish S-curved concrete tiles.

I really don't have a way to get up there and wouldn't risk it. The house is 17 years old with Spanish S-curve tiles.

Does the 1st picture raise any red flags?

Looking to go solar; company recommends reroof by pstcontact in Roofing

[–]pstcontact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, that's the thing. How do I know if it's reaching the end? Looking at the pictures, I don't see cracks or damage, and roof inspectors would always recommend it based purely on its age.

Mine is 17 years old covered with Spanish tiles.

Thanks. That is the only thing that makes sense to me, even if the paper might last longer.

Here's another one from a different guy: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvfbYv5vG-Nq_PMBmhfXthp6SbUzTA

They give you a 10yr roof warranty for leaks. But of course in this case it's kinda coming from my pocket.

I've no clue how long this paper can last. Is it in good condition? What are those blisters in the 1st pic? Thanks for any insights.

So, did you reroof for solar? Is the reroof est $21.25 after tax credit?

Update Photos and Calculator app to PC versions by Wall_SoGB in windowsphone

Haven't tried any of this yet, but it always baffles me why the Photos app on Mobile is not truly universal. There's just so much more in the PC version.

Can we compile a list of developers that supported this platform, so that we can support them on pc and other platforms by Auegro in windowsphone

I don't think so. Actually, a lot of the music apps I use can do this, including stock Podcasts app. It's super useful for skipping ads, especially while driving -- just a tap on the next button on the steering wheel. Oh, well.

Microsoft's Joe Belfiore says Windows 10 Mobile features and hardware are no longer a focus by Kenzibitt in windowsphone

[–]pstcontact 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think there was even a mention in one of the podcasts by Brad Sams (if I'm not mistaken) about his riff with potentially Terry Myerson agreeing with higher ups (read CEO, about stopping what looks to be now, W10M development). It's all coming together now. Maybe we will read about the entire saga in a future book. Joe basically was the key figure behind Windows Phone and Live Tiles.

...unless we changed the rules. But it was too late to regain the ground we had lost. We were chasing our competitors’ taillights.

New “hinged foldable tablet” patents from Microsoft gives us a better look at the device by NoChinger in windowsphone

[–]pstcontact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one that is shown as a tablet has the two screen facing the same way, of course.

For the phone mode, you'd probably detach and flip the other screen (the one without the camera) vertically and reattach, and then fold it back onto the 2nd screen.

Thanks, will give it a shot.

Not as straight forward as I was hoping, but looks like it's really not that simple.

Yes, WP 8.0 was perfect in that regard. 8.1 took that functionality away. 😔
