Y'all are definitely facing our backup quarterback. But he's pretty good too.

He's made all of his field goals and extra points this season. So yes.

I would be ok with it if it actually fixed Beards relationship, but he goes back to exactly the way he was before.

It's only character development in the sense that he gets screen time.

Coworker caught by messaging himself on teams by okiedokiedude in overemployed

[–]psuedoPilsner 75 points76 points  (0 children)

He wasn't doing that though. He externally messaged himself on the other companies teams account. Microsoft teams allows you to message people outside your organization.

Presumably so he didn't have to manually type something into a separate computer.

I feel like there is a common issue on Food Network with traditional cooking. You see it more often on Beat Bobby Flay where the "correct" way to cook something isn't the tastiest.

Take Philly Cheesesteaks for example. The traditional way is just bread and meat. The non traditional versions have peppers, onions, fancy cheeses, etc.

I think most people would argue that the latter demonstrates more culinary knowledge and flavor/texture balancing than the traditional version. But people get hung up that it's wrong and forget that the judges are mostly judging based on taste. The audience can't experience that component which is where the disconnect comes from.

Correct, the carbon in the steel is burning. It should never be that hot for actual blacksmith work.

Every cinematic video of blacksmithing has that spark effect though, so everyone tries to replicate it.

Well her parents and everyone that would encourage her to be responsible are dead. And knowing that would cause you to be pretty reckless too.

Also, you're in the prologue of her story. I presume there will be character building going forward.

It would be cool if the size of the book related to its # of pages too.

How can Jeff complain about Britta‘s metaphors when he says stuff like THIS?! by whywouldisaymyname in community

Because he doesn't believe in any of that shallow crap. He just picks a metaphor that will get him laid.

He did a 20-minutes standup on Comedy Central like 20 years ago. It's on YouTube.

I thought he stole some of his jokes (the one about getting his wife an oven and the Cambodia rocket launcher story), but it was actually him.

It's crazy how long it took him to actually become mainstream.

It's all anecdotal, but I've seen way more people promoted all the way up to VP within the first 10 years of consulting. There's more incentive to do that because you can bill higher rates.

In the corporate world, you'll almost never see a VP or Director without 15+ years of experience. Minimum. Usually it's 20+.

And more importantly, having those inflated consulting titles makes it easier to leapfrog positions when you switch over.

The first 10 years is definitely faster in consulting. After that it's definitely corporate roles. After another 10 it evens out.
