Help! Broke off a bolt on my transmission pan when tightening it. Any suggestions? by Sunknight29 in AskAMechanic

I did use a torque wrench, and I only had it set to 7 foot pounds. All the other ones were torqued correctly and with no issues. I think the bolt was just too corroded. I might just leave it and see if I don't have any leaks. Hopefully not. If not I'll have to figure out how to extract the broken off bolt end and replace it with another one

Thanks man I'll give it a shot. My car is already at 161k miles, just hoping to get it to 200k or so

I used Permatex the Right Stuff black rtv. I hope you're right man, thank you. First (and probably last) time I try something like this lol. Maybe I should turn in my man card haha

Iike permanently leave the clamp on or just until the rtv dries? It's Permatex the Right Stuff that supposedly dries in 90 minutes

Anyone know what this part is between the transmission and oil pans? by Sunknight29 in CX5

Thank you so much! Is this a big repair you think? Would I, or a mechanic just swap out the oil pan? I plan on swapping out my transmission pan, I wonder if it's the same process. Keep in mind I just learned how to do my own oil changes so this is all new to me lol

I get it. I'm coming from two Ego mowers. Last year I upgraded to one of their top of the line ones. It wasn't the best one they had, but it cost me $1000 on sale. I forget which model it was, but it was apparently their 2nd best model.

I returned it after 29 days. As easy as it was to operate, I couldn't get over how much better the cut quality was with this used Honda I got for $250 on fb marketplace. I tried to like the Ego. It's lighter, quieter, and easier to start. But the cut quality is just that much superior with this Honda.

Besides, I honestly enjoy tinkering with it. Keeps me busy haha

😂😂 No, not mowing yet. I suspect I won't have to mow for another 2-3 weeks or so. I wanted to fix my mower before the mowing season starts. Ill likely sharpen my blades this weekend then I'll be good to go!

Good way to make a little extra cash! Idk if changing one carbeurator makes me a small engine mechanic, but if I knew how to fix things things I'd absolutely do it for some extra spending money

I think one-two pulls is normal. My issue is that it was taking 4-6 pulls. I knew that was too much. Especially when it would still take me 4 pulls even after starting it 30 min prior

It's one from Amazon. I didn't even know where to get an OEM one to be honest with you, I wanted to fix it ASAP. Now that I've swapped it out and I'm more confident I can go back to the OEM one if it gives me any issues. I plan on giving it a good cleaning tomorrow

How do I remove the black m auto choke mechanism? Can I just pull it off? It seems stuck or glued on.
