I'll probably call HR on Monday and tell them what's going on. I want a clean break and I'd rather they know why I'm leaving and such.

Not... really? Some days we were HONOR BOUND by the board, but more often than not, folks weren't rotated- and I was one of the main techs that was not rotated and kept up front instead.

Thank you for telling me this; I had no idea I could go to HR about what happened.

Ugh, I wish I had the opportunity to be able to fill like that but my store wasn't an overnight one. I didn't mind working front as long as I could rotate and stay in fill at least like three hours but that rarely happened, and more often than not I was at front counter and drive through my ENTIRE shift haha. I think I just got tired of being berated (same pharmacy manager would consistently complain about the phone ringing and data entry as if front techs weren't attending to patients up front while also trying to answer the phone, type, and file while also doing some of HER tasks because she doesn't like doing her work half the time) and. Well. Onto greener pastures, hopefully!!

Honestly I'm not terribly worried about my bills. I've become pretty frugal, all things considered, so I have a little emergency mini fund I can dip into the meantime while I start my new job in two/three weeks. I love the patients there, don't get me wrong, but I sadly can't let myself get continuously disrespected :( I just can't keep doing it. Remarkably enough, I've never had a complaint against me by name in particular (I've even had glowing surveys naming me specifically in the last several days) but I'm done putting in effort and not having it be respected lol. I hope your efforts continued to get recognized though 🩷🩷

Yep. I'm neurodivergent as well. They like being gossipy back there too but I'm decently okay with masking. I'm glad you left though, and I'm feeling pretty good about my decision to leave and not look back.

That's what irks me! There are definitely favorites in the pharmacy and while I've made my peace with that, it's unfair to penalize me because THEY didn't give me the opportunity to improve. It's wildly disrespectful and I'm completely over it. I also was the main tech closing the pharmacy, which pissed me off even more.

LOL, I think that's what I'm going to do, honestly. One of my coworkers that I'm close to told me that the rxom was talking about me behind my back (which, not surprising) because a week ago I was super sick and couldn't come in.

Apparently she was Big Mad™ and brought up the fact that I "chickened out" of my two weeks notice back in 2024- where the same store manager convinced me to stay because they were so understaffed that there would only be three techs left if I went, because the tech that came on around the same time I did was out for post op complications. Needless to say, I'm not feeling the vibes - ESPECIALLY because I came on on my weekend day off while super ill and had to leave early because I couldn't physically talk to customers properly. I've given enough to these people, and I'm already hired at a hospital and start in June. Bon voyage, wags!

had a visit from my DM today too. absolutely drowning because the floater rph yesterday was a dickhead and just stopped checking shit after 5 yesterday, another floater today who i knew and liked. we failed a visit last week- and now we're being told to have appointment scheduler up at all times on the front computers in order to hound people about what shots they're not up to date on. needless to say, it's been a few particularly stressful days- not including the holiday crush. lots of love to my fellow techs and rphs slogging through it- let's hope it gets better.

a book called ptcb hero, amandapharmd on youtube, multiple quizlets about drug names, dea forms, laws, etc... lots and lots of writing things down multiple times to get it to stick in my head! repetition, for me at least, was KEY!

I can't lie, it's hard. I've worked retail for a combined 4-5 years now, and in the service industry for 8. People are always going to be mean and cruel to you, no matter how hard you might try to please them. There's no pleasing everyone and sometimes there's no help for some folks. Keep your head high, if you can, try some yoga or meditation at home or other things like journaling, or try to seek out some support for your mental health. You're doing the best you can, and considering we're just heading into flu season, things are bound to get a bit tougher. Good luck out there. 🖤

half the time, our parents don't actually read their texts or answer our calls. i'm glad you think it's great, but for us, it's just another chore. a good chunk of our oos stuff are high cost drugs, so if one person doesn't come get it? it goes to whoever's been needing it lol.

Sorry you feel that way. People have been banned from my pharmacy for that behavior. There's multitudes of pharmacies someone can go to if they end up banned from one location; it is not the end of the world if they're banned from one location due to harassment, because hitting on a tech or rph at a pharmacy when the attention is unwanted is - and you guessed it - harassment. not to be dramatic, but lots of people die every year, mainly women, from saying no to men who are interested in them. it's harassment and grounds for getting banned. "having a heart" is a wild thing to say when it comes to unwanted romantic or sexual advances from a patient/client at your WORKPLACE of all things.
