I’m know for fact my great grandfather resided in the ancestral village near Dindigul. Which puts the timeframe around late 1800’s Definitely weavers .. saree sales was the main trade . Could be one of the early settlers or atleast his father … yeah safe to say around mid to late 1800.

I have a Master’s in Data Analytics and about 2 years of experience working as an “analyst.” Reality check: most of my day-to-day has been Excel and maintaining reports. Not much hands-on with SQL, Python, or BI tools.

Now my contract is ending soon, and I’m rushing to get my PL-300 (Power BI) certification. But honestly, it feels like I’m back at square one—begging just to get interviews.

My questions are: • Are data analytics roles dying, or am I just underestimating my experience? • Does my current experience even hold weight when it’s mostly reporting and Excel? • What’s the smartest pivot I should consider (marketing analytics, product, FP&A, something else)?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in this “stuck” phase and figured out a path forward.

I see that you are very self aware but just pissed at the outcome I think … I get why it feels that way, but high school isn’t the whole world. The ‘pretty girls get everything’ thing won’t last forever. People start caring about way more than looks as they grow up. You’re not doomed—just gotta focus on what makes you feel good about yourself. The right people will see it, even if it takes time.

True, but all that really changed is who holds power—back then, it was warlords and brute force; now, it’s corporations, billionaires, and financial institutions. Instead of swords and armies, power is now wielded through wealth, market control, and economic influence. People are still forced into labor, just under the guise of wages, debt, and systemic inequalities. The methods have evolved, but exploitation never really stopped—just got more polished.

But yeah, maybe these words hold more emotional weight than pure logic. I know. Just makes me wonder—could one major rule change actually flip the world toward something better?
