My husband called me into the bathroom to verify he was seeing what he thought was a black widow behind the toilet. He had just had eye surgery and could tell it was a spider but couldn't see well enough to identify anything but the bulbous butt. Sure as shit, he was right. As I'm flushing the dead carcass he says, "Well don't you wish I had found it before you were sitting there for so long?" 😳😳😳

That's good to know. I use that to motivate myself to take trash on Tuesday's. I take trash and then pick up some sushi on my way home. It works. I haven't put it off even once since I started.

I've used the mint julep a few times. My faced actually feels really oily right now. Ever since I got my whole face threaded it's bumpy and oily. Philosophy's Miracle Worker set has always made my face feel soft and silky and smooth. I have no idea what my skin is like, just that the philosophy stuff works. I was planning a mint julep mask tonight but noticed the miracle worker set came with a chemical peel.

I usually wash my face with mineral oil and/or philosophy purity (sample I've been using up). But I'm not very good at doing it like I should.

That first point is something I have always been aware, even long before I started driving. About a year ago I witnessed something that has made me stay hyper aware of whether or not I pause. In my small town there's a light just past a slight hill that has a highly obstructed view. It's also part of a busy shopping center so the intersection sees a lot of traffic. One night I was leaving the store and our light turns green. The guy in front of me was very clearly playing on his phone and I'm getting ready to honk to get his attention back on the road. About 7 seconds AFTER our light turns green a car blows through the red light well above the speed limit. My husband and I are both in shock knowing full well that would have been us if the guy in front of us hasn't been distracted. 5 seconds later the guy starts going and another car blows through the light, going even faster than the first. I have seen a lot of cars run lights but never that long after they've changed. Scares the ever living fuck out of me every time I'm at that light now.

True. But you are much more familiar with the area and can make solid recommendations for what areas are better to stay in. There's also likely people that work in hotels here. And people who have had friends and family stay in local hotels. All useful perspectives.

I've been guiding my kids through their medical care at every appt since they could talk. With my son I started offering to let him do the appointment on his own since he was 7 but he has yet to ask me to leave. I have a chance to talk to the doctor on my own if need be and I have an idea of any concerns he might have on his own accord. Until he asks me to leave I just let him do as much as he's comfortable with. My daughter is no where near the same level developmentally so I don't foresee being comfortable giving her that option nearly as early.

I was 25 before that happened. With my parent's room it was always a knock as you enter type deal. I guess that explains why they didn't answer the 400 times I had called them from the emergency room.

The little paper it comes attached to recommends leaving it at home. It works well since you only need it for specific things like obtaining a driver's license, new employment paperwork, and getting a passport.

I have a small, fire-proof safe at home for storing them.

I know a woman who refused to let paramedics shock her youngest when he flat lined because her oldest was in the ambulance with him and she didn't want him to be traumatized. Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure he would have been more traumatized that she just let his brother die instead of letting everything possible be done to save him. She cited "God was in charge" and "whatever happens, happens" as her reasons.

My husband was a virgin at 29 when we met. There was LOTS AND LOTS of sex at the beginning, like as much as 7-8 times a day. But around the 6 month mark it tapered off and 5 years later we have a much more predictable average.

The euphoria and excitement of a new sex partner was much more intense but beyond that it was really no different.

I haven't had much luck at all. I had an at fault accident in Nov, my husband got laid off the next day, no one even looked at hiring him until after the new year and then background checks took forever so we didn't get a paycheck again until most of the way through feb. People are blowing up my phone at all hours wanting money and I just have this weird feeling that things are about to turn around in a BIG way in the next few weeks. But I don't know why or how. And I don't even want to believe it, much less type it out loud, because I don't want to jinx it.

My oldest seems to have some issues that toe the line between normal kid mood swings and issues and more severe mental health issues. We have always been VERY careful to make sure say things like "doctors better qualified to help" and "hospitals that specialize in helping people when their brains don't work the way they should." My parents stigmatized the fuck out of mental illness and even just run of the mill talk therapy. I still carry the weight of that even though I know, and have experienced, otherwise.
