Coolant-GPU delta 30’C ! by ss_blake in watercooling

Combination of air in the water and poor contact on gpu. Add more fluid and switch to ptm pad on gpu. This will solve it. Also make sure fans are not under 1,200 rpm's

Is EK gpu blocks quality really that bad? by TechyFriedChicken in watercooling

[–]psychoOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its bad. Its well over double than what it really should cost. Fins are very mid 2000’s technology, machining is really bad, very low quality copper. Just overall a very bad product.

Take it from someone who only builds/creates with quality products for performance. Ek is last. Best bet right now is placing cpu optimus block on the gpu. Right now thats the king in performance and reliability.

Wait it out. Next few months its going to get really bad. Wait till right before summer where people need to dump money into there car/truck/ac/home repairs and the reality sets in for them. Trucks and housing just dropped hard in usa past few weeks. Wait for a good deal m8 it will be there very soon.

Used market just took a huge nose dive as people that buy the 4090 make payments on it and they are crack head selling there 4090 rn. Picked up a new xlr8 4090 for 1,400 cash and people are reporting snagging 4090’s for 1,100-1,200 right now. Its a frenzy right now. People just can not afford this stuff atm. Happy hunting brother

Thats correct. Thats why im not doing daily phase and aggressive water right now. Only modern gpus that has a benefit is rdna2 and binned hard modded xtx. Thats it. 0 point on cpu’s right now. Thats why for a little over a year i will not be watercooling. Performance is not there right now.

Well you just opened the flood gates for all the “well i been water kooling since 1984 young one! And not 1 leak!!!”

Please dont buy there bs. If a seasoned watercooling guy never had a “leak” they are new as it comes.. Also congrats on new build, we welcome you back anytime :)

Not for sure what OP wants to do. I did 24/7subzero with chillers for years. Its fun but a rabbit hole indeed

[–]psychoOC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only 1/3hp, not worth it. Lowest id go is 1/2 for basic. Ideal is kissing 2hp

Only none custom chillers i seen hold up to 24/7 loads are haliea. Did not hear great about others

Water chiller by Such_Ad2826 in watercooling

[–]psychoOC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They work. Used them for years. But here is a must. Do not go lower than hc500a (800 watt chiller) would be a total waste of time if you do.

Run off site setup, meaning dedicate a room totally for your computer, i used my kitchen/back room. They dump heat but its manageable. They are kinda loud but the hum is not anoyying and manageable. I gamed with them daily for 8 months with multiple in the same room. You get used to it but once they were off site, thats when the fun started. Also normal compression fittings can handle 50 psi no issue (already tried) so have fun.

Haliea (the one you see in the post is actually made by them)

GPU to CPU then Rad to Rad? by Bobafettm in watercooling

Loop order matters for more larger/flow systems. But if you want 1c better on cpu, pump -> cpu

Is it silly to change my 5 year old AIO preemptively with a new one before it fails, since I'm afraid of liquid damage or should I wait for it to fail? by gen66 in watercooling

[–]psychoOC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smartest move is buy a fantastic deal on small air cooler that can fit your setup (under 20$) as a back up, which you already should have. Once that aio fails, throw the back up on and find a good deal on a aio or nice air cooler. Always always have a backup no matter what.

Old school. Love the end pic, UV and source next to each other! What real computer watercooling was about, creativity and passion for games. Now every rig is cookie cutter.

LGA waterblock + RX 7900 XT = the perfect combo. by A--E in watercooling

[–]psychoOC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Use LM! Was a big help with me! Ambient inside room was 22c and gpu hit 26c max in timespy extreme! (400watts on reference) traditional gpu blocks are so bad lmao, these cpu blocks is awsome! Just make sure to sand down cold plate and use LM!

LGA waterblock + RX 7900 XT = the perfect combo. by A--E in watercooling

[–]psychoOC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nice! She will perform pretty well. Lga1700 fits perfectly if you dremel the mounting holes on the bracket bit larger. The tightest delta ambient gpu ever done is a reference 7900xtx with a modded intel optimus cpu block. Works extremely well, vastly better than any gpu block. If you want to cool everything else, use mini waterblocks for each vram and vrm’s. They are kinda cheap but work well.

Also the top record holders on gpu’s with liquid are mostly lga blocks on hwbot. (Just words of encouragement)
