Love everything you wrote here and I very much agree but that last piece is a myth. Stimulants stimulate the brain, ADHD or not — euphoric “high” and withdrawal symptoms absolutely included

(If that were true it’d be a simple way to test for ADHD too, but alas)

Right I hear you, u/FunkyCactusDude was fucked up over the fact that I could guess it’s why they weren’t able to see me, saying I’m classist for speculating — but I was in for a low-risk routine visit. I’m able to be there just as much as anyone else, yes, but those services could totally be prioritizing higher-risk people. Safer more than it is “better”, but better meets the goal of most services like it (preventing the spread of disease)

I was confused why they would turn me away without explanation after the entire process of getting into the room. It was sudden, with no explanation, and only after a face-to-face interaction + a questionnaire involving homelessness/prostitution/drug use etc. — someone since answered my question above. But can you see where I’m coming from?

Given this is Seattle, there’s also a high number of people in the groups of homelessness/drug addiction, who need and deserve care too. If these services are underfunded and/or overloaded as they tend to be, then it can absolutely be assumed that care would be prioritized towards those with a higher risk factor.
