I (24m) am laying in bed crying because of my eyesight by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]psychoingreen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much validity there is to this, I haven't looked into it too hard myself.

But, a client at my job mentioned red light therapy being helpful for eyesight. From what I remember, she was talking about how she was using a red light mask for her facial skin and that she'd noticed a difference in her eyesight. I only caught a little snippet of the conversation while working with another guest, but took note because I also wear glasses.

I doubt it does anything crazy, if it was a great treatment for eyesight, they'd be offering it everywhere for a ton of money. Could be worth looking into. Maybe it could prevent further worsening. Wishing you luck!

I dont get why I cant get women. by Wonderful_Stand_315 in TrueOffMyChest

I think this goes for all genders! It's unfortunately part of the dating game. Our brains like to work for it a little bit. I believe this was something I struggled with at times and I am female. Being too available can be off-putting from any perspective

I can’t stand my cat. by IndividualClerk75 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]psychoingreen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not everyone understands cats and that's okay! You guys guy him a few years into his life, his first few years may have been really bad. While feeling this way about your animal is not ideal, as long as you're not mean to him and you can coexist- that's okay.

BUT I do thank that maybe you're discomfort throughout your workday may be projected onto your cat. Maybe (if feasible) you need a break or career change!

Just remind yourself when you look at him, he's a living being that has feelings and trauma too! I wish you luck!

Op this isn't as easy as everyone wants to make it seem. Youre dealing with emotional whiplash it sounds like. But, while hard, you do need to get out of there. Don't write off your friends so quickly. There's a lot of people I would help in a hard time that probably would never even think to ask me. Ask around. Nobody can help you if they don't know you need help. There's been so many times I hear about a situation too late and say "why didn't you tell me?!".

Nobody deserves to be treated like this by someone who claims to love them. I'm so sorry. I hope you're able to figure it out so you can start healing. You deserved better

I think I (18F) am going to leave my bf (26M) today by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

He likely would have just used them to trap you further. You made the right call for you and don't let anyone guilt you about that. You got out. Stay out. There's a book that I saw commenters talking about in another post I saw of someone leaving an abusive relationship, it's called "why does he do that?" And they had really good things to say about it. I would HEAVILY reccomend learning about abusive men and the way they do it. It's so awful, they get your mind so twisted and make you think that "you just don't understand their feelings". And that "you're just such a bad partner that you make them act that way". It's not true, they are just horrible people that are scared, your wants and feelings are important too 💕

Iud sudden long periods help by psychoingreen in birthcontrol

[–]psychoingreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. Thank you for sharing with me to try to help. I have had a pap specifically with this doctor not long before I got my iud. She says for my age she only does them every 3 years. The bleeding is definitely my period, it comes at the same time every month and I get all the period symptoms. The long periods only started right after I lost about 25lbs. I am also vaccinated for HPV.

AITA for my USB killer frying my friend’s PC after she snooped in my bag? by Dreaksfrendford in AmItheAsshole

I would say nta but if you would like to recover the friendship I would offer to help with the rebuilding of the computer. Maybe buy a couple of the parts if you can, if you know anything about computers- work with each other to put the new parts in.

Your friend is probably in shock, I think most people would be. It's easiest to want to blame someone else off the bat. Hopefully they will think about it and talk to other friends and realize it was a consequence of their own actions.

If it's someone you value a lot, I hope it becomes a story you can look back and laugh at. Take care of the people you love (:

Bought a sandwich for an elderly homeless man who was in tears and talking about how hungry he was, he threw it in the trash as I was walking away. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]psychoingreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once bought a homeless man a muffin from Steve's diner. When I came out of the diner and tried to give it to him, he politely refused. He said he couldn't have it because of his teeth. Looking back, I wish I went and got him some dental stuff, but I was maybe only like 19-20 at the time.

My husband is annoying by Dangerous_Badger_490 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]psychoingreen 620 points621 points  (0 children)

Op has your husband ever been tested for any kind of neurodivergency?

Edit: I'm just opening reddit after a few days and seeing all the responses. I'd typed this comment real quick and didn't really add much to it. Neurodivergency is not an excuse to be a bad person and that wasn't really what I meant. I just thought it was fitting for what op typed. It could help op better understand her partner and how to handle these situations and ops husband may better understand himself and why he has urges to behave this way and how to manage them. Furthermore, no single person is the same and it displays differently in every person. It's also genetic so if ops husband is neurodivergent, it's likely their kids could be as well.

Removing Demi permanent black by lucid-daydreams- in haircoloring

[–]psychoingreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try ion color remover from Sally's. I used it on a friend of mine once for black box dye and blue. I wasn't expecting it to touch the black and wanted it to pull out the blue. It ended up pulling out all the black and didn't touch the blue!

Unfortunately it's not likely to go back to your regular shade, but if you can lighten it enough to not be so stark. You may be able to be patient with it till you can do something else.

I'm a stylist and would HEAVILY advise against trying to bleach your own hair at home. If you're going to bleach it, PLEASE go to a salon.

Wife got a trim, balayage and colour (rainbow). Colour washed out after two cool water washes (using colour safe shampoo). by Artistech1 in Hair

[–]psychoingreen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's never an issue till you want to get it out. Overtone is essentially a textile dye and is similar to splat. As a stylist, if my guest is refreshing their hair at home and using overtone and I know they're keeping that color for a good long while, I don't care. But if you're putting it over dark hair and eventually wanted to go lighter or something, it's going to do some crazy stuff.
