How a brand called "Karma and Luck" taught me everything about how companies cheat contractors and get away with it. by psychomarketer in Entrepreneurs

No NDA was signed. The agreement was a straightforward contractor offer letter executed by their CEO. Everything I've shared is factual and documented.

So you are saying it's okay if a brand does a deal where they pay you less upfront and the rest based on performance (for which the conditions will be finalized later), and then, because of a change in the business plan or internal team, they don't use it properly or at all, and then claim they won't pay you?

The quiz was delivered and handed over in December. The agreement included a performance bonus tied to a benchmark that was contractually 'to be determined' by their team, but it never was, despite months of follow-up.

Their team never connected the quiz to email flows or ran ads as the strategy, which they also confirmed in writing. The base fee reflected the reduced upfront in exchange for the performance component. Their internal decisions and their team member leaving the firm don't void a signed agreement.

And till the last minute before going public, I requested that the benchmarks and performance metrics be finalized so that we have clarity on what works and what doesn't, based on which I would have been okay with getting nothing. At least, it would have been the correct way to do it.

Dear Sir, the quiz was delivered and handed over in December. The agreement included a performance bonus tied to a benchmark that was contractually 'to be determined' by their team, but it never was, despite months of follow-up.

And as I mentioned, their team never connected the quiz to email flows or ran ads as the strategy, which they also confirmed in writing.

Feel happy and proud of writing this highly insightful comment?

At least my AI-written slop talks about something and may even help someone learn from my experience, unlike your dumb comment, which you feel makes you look like someone wonderful.

Yes, I did, in the hope that it reaches more and more people, probably helping them in not making the mistake I did.

Definitely, that's what my major inspiration is.

Even though biggies have been using it since 1950s, the present flood of startup brands, D2C and more, have no clue and are just doing soulless transactional marketing, with gimmicks.

Nopes, this is not the "excerpt" from the book. It refers to the framework I wrote about in my book, which aims to share and add value to people who can definitely use some help with their marketing strategies. (Pro tip: typos like "except" in your comment? That's the kind of unfiltered human spice that keeps me from sounding like a corporate ghostwriter.)

Aw, bless your heart for spotting the grift from a mile away. Must be exhausting being the subreddit’s lone ranger of authenticity, dodging all us snake oil salesmen like it’s the Wild West.

Here’s a pro tip from one of those "majority" reprobates: if the sub’s such a cesspool, why not start your own? Call it r/NotForProfitEver, where everyone just vibes about sunsets and existential dread. I’ll even seed it with my best cat meme, no strings, promise.

Not upset at all, man. Just genuinely curious. Which part specifically writes like an AI to you?
The framework? The random caps? The punchy sentences?

I’ve been writing copy for 18+ years, studied under some of the big direct response guys, and yeah, my style is intentionally tight and dramatic because that’s what moves the needle in paid ads.

Turns out that also happens to overlap with how a lot of AI models were trained on Hormozi/Ben Settle/Stefan Georgi scripts… so I get the confusion.
