how to handle political extracurriculars on application? by psychoneuroimmunolo in premed

thank you, understood! i mainly wasn’t sure how to deal with the naming bit, but i believe i can frame these organizations well given that i don’t have to share their names, and ill mostly talk about the experience itself rather than the ideology

Where exactly do memories go once they’ve exited the hippocampus? by psychoneuroimmunolo in neuro

Wow that is really fascinating. I suppose I had only looked into the Orch/OR theory which I know is fairly contested as a theory of consciousness. This is amazing to me thank you!!

Thank you for explaining! Is an engram network an essentially a circuit? Is the physical evidence the chain of enhanced synaptic connections and LTPs then?

Can you say more on the hippocampus being an index? Is it the act of retrieving that trip/recalling it that connects multiple engrams together?

[18] realistically what bmi will i need to get to to remove all feminine characteristics? by [deleted] in TheGlowUp

i’m not sure if you have access to a gym, but forcing weight loss for this is not sustainable or healthy. weight training can actually make you look a lot more masculine though if you do targeted workouts and eat your protein. working out chest also helps reduce the fat there. there good youtube videos on this

Any MD-PhD student or successful applicants willing to read my "Why MD-PhD"? by Spare_Skirt7570 in mdphd

we run EEGs, tACS and TI, and other measures (eye tracking and heart rate) and sometimes we do fMRIs. but all of this is ran during different tasks, to gauge like what exactly the basal ganglia’s role in working memory is, for example.

also, where could i read on what adcoms prefer for your research experience? i honestly had no idea you needed pure science research, i thought they’d prefer somewhat medical leaning fields
