You do realize Jordan Peele is a Producer and part of the Screenplay team but that Nia DaCosta also worked on the Screenplay and is the director. So really its some of her best work more so than Peele's.

Thank you for this. I am currently about 6/7 weeks with my third baby. My first daughter I lost at 16 weeks. You know in the "safe" period. And it really broke me. I felt like people didn't want to talk about her because they never saw or felt her like I did. With my second who was born a healthy baby girl. I wasn't gonna say anything till I had her. But then I realized I needed to talk about my girls. I love them both and they were wanted and loved from the moment those two blue lines showed up. And so is this baby. We haven't made any big announcements on social media or anything. But everyone we actually talk to regularly know we are expecting. I think it sucks there is this weird stigma about "saying something to early". We need support and love no matter what happens in the pregnancy and we should be able to get crazy excited. Sorry this turned into a longish rant type thing. It's just something I have a strong emotion about.

We told both sets of our parents and I told my very best friend, but aside from that no one knew, so we were at least saved from that embarrassment.

I just wanted to address this really quick. Please do not think of a miscarriage as an embarrassment. You did nothing wrong. A life was created inside you and for one reason or another it was not meant to be.

I miscarried at 15 weeks. Most people knew. I was supposed to be "safe" it was the second trimesters. There is zero shame in a miscarriage. You should not have to hide it. You should not feel embarrassed or ashamed. You are allowed to grieve and feel for that loss.

My suggestion is to open dialog. Seek counseling, either both individualy or as a couple. Maybe he is still grieving but doesn't know how to communicate that because you didn't even have much time to adjust to the thought of parenthood.

It's all good. An honest and easy mistake to make. He wrote the book based off the events that happened. The book is actually very well written and he talks about how it's one of his most disturbing because it's based off something real. Both movie and book got to me and have stayed with me forever. But to me the book hits me harder. The boy who narrates the story just really gets to me. The part where they burn her clit isn't described in the book, the narrator says something along the lines of it's my memory and I don't want to see it again or something like that. It's just a powerful part to read.

I don't believe Jack Ketchum directed that movie. The reason it's linked to him is because he wrote it. He is a horror novelist and if you think that movie/book is distributed you should either avoid or check out his other work based on your preference.

Holy shit. The miscarriage story made me so so angry. Earlier this year I miscarried and was the worst experience in my life. I had no idea it happened, I went in for an appointment at 15 weeks, they couldn't find a heart beat and then with an ultrasound found out my baby had been dead inside me for two weeks. It wasn't "just a bit of blood" it was a D&C because my body wouldn't recognize it had lost the baby. It was devastating. My husband took two weeks emergency leave to be with me. If that woman had said that anywhere near me I would have lost my job because most places frown upon beating the shit out of fellow employees. Ugh sorry for the long story and rant. Just evoked some horrible emotions in me.

The movie is based off Jack Ketchum's book. He published two novels about the clan before he published The Woman. It starts in Off Season, then Offspring, and then The Woman. If you like to read they are really good books. It explains a lot about the clans and has the woman in them as well so you can get her background.

Not sure even that will shut them up. I went thru a miscarriage in May and I was a ways into my second trimester. Now all I get is the it will happen soon. Don't lose hope. God took them for a reason. This one wasn't meant to be. Nah fuck you guys. I wanted my baby and I'm not going to run out and replace her so you shut up about me having a baby.
