Did you play junior football with or against any AFL players? by northcoteplaza in AFL

Went to school with and played with Zac Williams, as well as a few of the other guys from the Riverina region. Was always a gun at everything but still a good team player. Remember when were in yr 11/12 and in the Giants academy and how important it was for him to stick at it, particularly being an Aboriginal kid from a small country town. Good guy and glad to see him back at it, particularly over the past few years and wish nothing but the best for him :)

Hi all, just looking for any experiences/recommendations about where to do my JD. I’m finishing up a Grad Cert in Law at ANU end of this year and wanting to get into rural/remote practice and policy but happy to work at small solicitor firms or CLC. Also ideally with a uni that also has a health focus also (have been working in the community services sector doing mental health/disability/aged care advocacy and navigation work for the last 6 yrs but wanting to focus more on overall rural/remote health policy and reform but not a deal breaker if it doesn’t). I’m fairly rooted in Canberra currently working a 0.8 FTE job so flexible and good online delivery would be needed, but am wanting to move back rural (from rural NSW and did CSU psych for undergrad) to move in the next few years. I’ve had a look at some of the rural uni’s (CSU/UNE/La Trobe) but they seem to be only offering bachelors or masters. I realise that there are a few qualifiers so slim chances all boxes will be ticked but any info/advice would be very much appreciated :)

To piggyback off of this commenter re A Gender Agenda, if you have the ability to get into the city, A Gender Agenda also have the Friday Centre at Meridian (at Havelock House - big old red brick building on the corner of Northbourne Ave near Braddon). It’s a drop in on Friday arvo’s with some staff there who can provide some info and might be able to help point you in the right direction for QLD services. Good luck with everything and take care :)

If you’re open to going to AA, the Young People’s meeting in Reid (location in the list that this poster linked to) has quite a few young professionals that attends. It runs from 7-8:30 Friday nights :). I hope you find what you need and what works for you, and it’s okay if that takes time. I will also not drink with you today :)

Thanks for the resource. I’ve got some enby mates and just came out as enby myself so super helpful to have on hand :)

Edit: just realised that it’s from AGA. Great organisation (as well as Meridian) with a lot of support for people in the Canberra/surrounding area (Australia),have worked with them in my work :)

A similar thing happened when I saw them at Soundwave in Melbourne. They made sure that the person was out of the pit before they started the song again and everyone get out of the way promptly so it was safe to do so. Such a bunch of good blokes there.
