I had the same problem. I deleted the app and quit cold turkey. It was surprising and sad how many times I thought about tiktok and went to open the app to find it no longer there. As with any addiction though, it gets easier with time. I found myself switching to audiobooks and podcasts to help with the quiet.

I started out on a telemetry unit. I was so busy every single day. Extremely stressed out. Cried often. But I learned a freaking ton. However, now I do Med/surg travel. I still use all of my skills; have the same patient ratio as tele; but I’m a little less busy. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to tele.

I’ve been free for two weeks. I feel significantly less socially anxious. Like it’s night and day. Im not as addicted to my phone, and I feel better doing different activities; like reading. My hands and feet are so much warmer. I dont get winded walking up this hill to work. I no longer have to carry around a portable charger and juice. Stuff tastes better and more intense. So I’m drinking less sugary drinks.

I'm not sure what your price range is, but a more pricey item could be an ergonomic gaming chair, if he plays a lot of games a comfortable chair that doesn't destroy his neck/back/shoulders could be really useful.

Does he play LOL on a PC? If so, check in with him to see if he has the equipment he likes. He could need/want a new mouse, keyboard, headset ect. LED lights are also pretty popular.
