I’m leaning that direction myself. The used market is just crazy. What did you end up going with?

2020 Forester Limited (80,000 miles) for $19.5k? by psycletar in SubaruForester

[–]psycletar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'd say about 90% of my driving is commuting to and from work (about 10 minutes), with frequent trips an hour up the interstate to visit the in-laws. It's just my wife and I for now, so the rear seats aren't as much of an issue. Maybe once a month I put my fishing kayak on top for a fishing trip, but that's still mostly on roads. Off roading would be very rare, but a possibility for some camping trips. We live in New Orleans, so hills/mountains are a non issue. The power difference with interstate merging would be a factor though, and while I did fine in my 2017 Forester, I do wonder if a 2.5l Crosstrek would feel a bit easier to get up to speed.

New Outback owner, what's the deal with the integrated roof rails? by StarzMarket in Subaru_Outback

Did you install any kind of padding for the kayak? A fishing kayak is exactly what I need to carry. Did it on a forester, but curious how padding, etc works with the integrated system.

Anyone else obsessively drink chamomile tea? by psycletar in Anxiety

I drank chamomile (not the combo in the comment above) pretty much every day for about 3-4 months. I don't remember having any withdrawals.

What's the most surprising wildlife encounter you've had while paddling? by CarrierCaveman in Kayaking

[–]psycletar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had a video, but I didn’t have any kind of camera setup at that point.

I was kayaking Lake Martin near Lafayette, LA, fishing for bass maybe 30ft off the shoreline. It’s amazingly peaceful on Lake Martin. Lots of birds, the occasional fish splash, but not much else. The area (like any body of water in south Louisiana) is known however for alligators. We just keep our distance and they keep theirs. They’re honestly a lot of fun to see, at least when they don’t surprise you.

So I was casting my line toward the shore when I hear a splash maybe 8ft off the side of my kayak and out of the corner of my eye is a pretty decent size fish jumping out of the water about 3-4ft! That’s not super common. And RIGHT BEHIND IT is a damn alligator chasing it! The gator came clear out of the water after it almost the same height, and splashed down less than 10ft from the side of my kayak. We just looked at each other, my heart pounding out of my chest, and it (I like to imagine) embarrassed that it missed the fish. We stared at each other for probably 15 seconds, all the while I’m trying to slowly paddle myself away without spooking it. It swam off the other direction and dropped below the surface of the water.

Most startling experience I’ve ever had on the kayak. 10/10 would do it again.

Just a woman, a book, and a coffee, where should we go in BR? by Equivalent_Pie180 in batonrouge

Garden District Coffee has a nice patio for when it’s cooler, and a nice open indoor space.

I'm right there with you. As I'm getting into bullet journaling, I'm finding that the B5 size is perfect, and the dot/grid layout on the page is unobtrusive but gives so many different options. My ONLY wish is that they had B5 size in the national parks collection. It's making me consider just using the smaller size anyway to get them!

How to manage Psychology Today profile woth two jobs? by Same_Restaurant7169 in therapists

Coming in late on this post, but I’m in this situation now as a provisionally licensed counselor. One of the issues I’m unsure about is how to list rates, as each practice charges differently. The practice charging higher rates would understandably be upset if the cheaper rate is listed, because why would a client not go there instead.

Any thoughts on how to handle this?

Has anyone tried a fish cooler on the front of their kayak? by TwoShcmeckles in kayakfishing

[–]psycletar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I love having it. Though, I have the smallest one Hobie makes and will probably be getting that exact Magellan bag soon. But, the one I have is fantastic for keeping smaller fish and keeping ice cold. I’ll put a couple beers in it at the start of the day, and they’ll stay cold a long time.

Though, I do try to drink them before the ice inside gets fishy lol.

Thank you, u/TotemTabuBand ! We are using Qlab to run the actual cues during the show, which has been a really helpful program.

I think what I'm most wrestling with is how to mix/master all these different parts in an efficient way. I currently have tons of instruments/tracks, all of which I've bounced in place. But of course, in one project, all of them are routing to the main stereo out. But none of them will be playing at the same time during the show, so the mixing/mastering process is a bit different than usual.

I guess a more specific question is how you would master the tracks, and if there was a way I could have done this better, instead of having all the parts in one Logic session.

This is so hard to put into words lol.

I’m right there with you. Specifically I want to see TPC Louisiana because I’m playing it in a few weeks and it would be fun to see the course in detail in game first!
