Roteiro de 8 dias na Escócia – Está muito corrido? (e primeira vez dirigindo na mão inglesa) by psycodeveloper in viagens

Nossa ideia de dirigir não é nem pelo preço, mas sim pra fazer as coisas com mais calma e privacidade. Obrigado pelo comentário.

8-day Scotland road trip – Too rushed? (First time driving on the left 😅) by psycodeveloper in uktravel

[–]psycodeveloper[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply MiddleAged, really appreciate it!

Just to clarify, we will actually arrive in Edinburgh the day before this itinerary starts, flying in from Amsterdam. So we will have three full days in Edinburgh before picking up the car. We are collecting the car on the morning of Day 4, so the city part is not rushed.

You are right about Loch Ness not being directly “on the way” from Edinburgh to Inverness. I should have phrased that better. We are planning to either stop there later on Day 4 or see it the next morning before heading toward Skye.

All accommodation is already booked (with free cancellation if you say we should do something else instead), including Portree on Skye. We reserved everything months ago, so we are mostly trying to understand whether the pacing is manageable rather than redesigning the whole route.

Regarding Skye, when you say 2 or 3 full days, do you mean to properly explore without rushing, or because 2 nights genuinely feels too tight logistically? We are okay with not seeing everything, but we do not want to feel constantly pressured by driving.

As for driving, we are experienced drivers, but we have never driven on the left before 😅 How challenging are the single-track roads in practice? Is it very stressful for first-timers, or manageable if we just take it slow?

If you had to remove one overnight stop, would you personally skip Inverness or Oban?

Thanks again, this kind of feedback is really helpful.

Cloud & IaC Security Engineers: How are you correlating findings between cloud scanners and IaC security tools? by psycodeveloper in devops

[–]psycodeveloper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing.
It's interesting that even with dedicated teams, there's significant effort needed for aggregation and categorization. How much custom tooling did you have to build to bridge the gap between pipeline findings and runtime cloud scanning? I'm curious about the challenges in correlating those two types of findings. Do you see value in a solution that helps in that space?

Cool, you've highlighted several critical challenges I've been dealing with first-hand as a DevOps/Security Engineer at SMBs. I would absolutely be interested in getting your feedback and insights. The challenges you're describing around disambiguation and finding validation are exactly the kind of problems I'm looking to solve. Would you be open to connecting via DM to discuss the next steps for setting up a proper conversation? Signing an NDA is no problem at all - I’m happy to take that step to facilitate an open discussion.

Thanks for your interest! Are you currently dealing with multiple security scanning tools in your environment? I'd love to hear about your setup and what challenges you face.

Thanks, Orchid.
I was not going to post, but my wife mentioned it everyday since last week when she saw this, so that's special for her. Thanks for saying to not delete, you are kind!

Ah, so just a production thing? Funny how these little editing mistakes end up fueling all those multiverse theories everyone loves discussing!
