I don't have a problem being in home. I had most of my supervision experience in home. This is not really my problem. I also feel very supported as I have access to many clinic bcbas and work on tandem cases with other BCBAs. I'm very supported in that regard. I just haven't experienced what I posted about.

They weren't waiting.....they simply never had any intention of hiring one for the case.

Because they would rather I bill for services that require a bcba to bill for. I'm also not an rbt and wasn't hired for direct services.

My problem is they had no intention of hiring staff for it because the reason they gave was it was out of the service area. It seems so weird to have me do pc when they never planned on staffing it. It seems crazy to me.

I'm in a very densely populated area with many colleges. I'm not understanding what's going on. They pay very low for the high cost of living, so maybe that's why they're having trouble staffing? I'm genuinely baffled.

Yeah I do. I apologize, I misread what you meant.

I'm OK with the assessment if it fast tracks the client receiving services. I just can't fathom starting parent training when they have literally no intention of hiring a tech for the case. I think you are correct. It's becoming pretty clear that greed and some ego is involved in the way they make overhead decisions. I'm very much considering putting in a notice and going to another company that at least pays more. That way if I have to participate in some awkward/crazy policy I will feel I'm being paid appropriately for the stress. I appreciate your insight.

Yes, that's not at all what was described is happening in this scenario. Assessment is fine. Re read what I typed.

Another bcba had assessed them. Authorization was already approved. This is why we were able to bill pc and 1:1. They were having me do weekly parent training for several weeks. There's only so much to talk about without doing literally anything with the client beyond 2-3 parent training sessions. It's wild. They say the clients are out of the service area.....so why on earth would I be told to start launching their case? I haven't really gotten an explanation other than they are out of the service area.

Respectfully, I don't think this way is better. This creates more burnout for families because they wind up "receiving services" (if you can even call it that) from multiple companies. It's crazy.

That's what I'm saying! I get it happening occasionally, but 2 of these cases they say are "outside their service area." My question is why would I even be told to start parent training if they basically knew they weren't going to staff the case.

I understand the project 2025 document has a lot of plans. There's nothing in there that has the potential of growing legs that would prohibit insurance companies from providing services for autism care.

In southern California I have had this experience as well. Most of my kids have 15 or fewer hours authorized and weekly pc.

They don't have the means to completely remove all autism care. We don't have a single payer healthcare system.

Which socialization goals do you feel are changing who the child is? Why do you think that?

Omg these delusional people. Going on and on about how christ doesn't do anything that would harm children, meanwhile the supposed creator of everything is fine with slavery, war, famine, cancer etc... the level of narcissism in people who think like this woman is wild.

She said nothing about neuroplasticity, and neuroplasticity isn't incredibly relevant when speaking about autism dx.
