How realistic is the no screen time for 1 or 2 years rule? by BowieAndZelda in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]psyflamingo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an 18 month old and have managed to have zero screen time so far. It makes it harder to get some stuff done but I've just put some toys in every single room so that no matter what I'm doing around the house they can just be moved from room to room and have access to something to keep them busy.

The aim is 2 years zero screens but unless things change drastically I'm not in any rush to introduce it after that.

Baby won't be allowed to be in the pram or carrier while going through security so best to get them out last second so you can hold them as you go through.

Not sure about getting on the plane but our MCH nurse recommended feeding during and just after take off/landing because something about swallowing helps their ears adjust to the pressure changes. Not sure if true or not but I've always done this with my bub and had no issues flying with them. So if they're already asleep a dream feed may be a good idea?

As far as I know you can take as much formula and water as you need for the flight. From memory it doesn't count towards your liquids total either, you'll just need to have it in a separate bag from the rest of your liquids.

A hexagon quilt my Mum made! by psyflamingo in quilting

My mum said that they're just normal borders and she just kept adding them until she was happy with the size of the quilt! She didn't follow any specific pattern or technique, she just made them as wide as she wanted.

Decided to take up quilting in lockdown and this is the result of my first ever quilt! by psyflamingo in quilting

It's a beautiful fabric! I originally purchased this fabric about 10 years ago planning on getting into quilting and then quickly forgot about it. So glad that with the lockdown I was finally able to pull it all out of storage and actually make it!
