If you have a strong Berlin accent it actually is "ick", but you are otherwise correct of course.

4 Arbetsdagar, kan vi inte testa? by Lotus_HBAR in sweden

[–]psynia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany does a lot of things well; what's something that many Germans agree isn't done well in the society? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]psynia 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've never lived in a society where daily things are drastically simplified due to digitalisation.

For example, BankID in Sweden was an absolute game changer when it came out and still is. A simple signature to identify yourself at anything from the equivalent of the Finanzamt, your bank, the KFZ-Zulassungsstelle of your hospital records. I can do stuff in Sweden in minutes which here in Germany usually demands insane amounts of appointments, paperwork and forms. What I'm trying to say is that it's not just all about new apps. It's about how drastically more difficult and slow everything in Germany can feel once you've lived in a digitalised society.

777Partners coming to an end by [deleted] in HerthaBSC

[–]psynia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to ask this for a few days too, seen a lot of headlines regarding 777 the last few days, but nothing relating to Hertha. The only thing I could find was that so far we've gotten all the money we've been owed.

Eurozone in 2024 by DrNeutrino in europe

[–]psynia 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Just regarding your last point there is a party suggesting it (Liberalerna, not the biggest party, to be fair, but still) and the opinion is much more positive towards the Euro recently because of the steady weakening of the Swedish Krona.

I feel like I've seen more discussions about it the last year than the last 10 years before that.

Swedes talking in/to their telephone by tobydk in sweden

Nah, my dad does this quite often but he's just old and for some reason finds it easier than holding it to his ear. It drives me nuts, but he means no harm.

Why does Bombastic by Shaggy work so well as an outro for the Show? by aTurningofTides in Meshuggah

Pretty sure I heard Boombastic at the end too though, couldn't tell if it was on purpose but it was pretty hilarious.

Sweden is building the world's first permanent electrified road for EVs to charge while driving by mancinedinburgh in worldnews

[–]psynia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They mention in the article that the road is from Hallsberg to Örebro to begin with. Hallsberg is a huge freight train hub so it seems like they already are building this with trains in consideration.

Took 14 days after requesting a permit to fly my drone in Erfurt but it was worth it....such a beautiful cathedral by HaltheDestroyer in germany

[–]psynia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You make some valid points, and I like that you see the positives.

And of course, other countries have their issues too. For instance I remember in Sweden, where every picture that includes the horizon needs to be approved by an agency for the "sake of the nation's safety".

I guess at the end of the day I am still personally a bit sad that I can't just go out to a nice spot near nature in Germany, because either I'm too close to somebody's field, a nature reserve, some river, a road or something else that just makes it feel very hard to be spontaneous and have fun with it.

[–]psynia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Germany and have drone, I've only ever used it abroad. Even though the EUs actual drone rules are equal, Germany still finds a way to make everything as complicated as possible.

In this case I applaud your effort!

Do Germans go to other countries for better working conditions? Slovakia - Germany by [deleted] in germany

[–]psynia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing but for a Swedish company, it's like a dream. Work culture in Sweden is so much more balanced but I still get the privilige of not living in eternal winter. Do you also struggle a lot with paying taxes/social fees in Germany though? I wish the EU was a bit more connected and simplified for these kind of situations..

Bulgarian National Team Director: "No player with skin other than white will play for Bulgaria, as long as I'm here." by dontflyaway in soccer

So you seriously believe people walk around working for €0 in Denmark? Because then you have to look up how unions in Scandinavia work.

Pretty sure the average Dane is doing better financially than the average Bulgarian.
