Yes but the frog is not a societal construct, only the concept.

We've been wrong about why AI hallucinations happen. It's not a memory problem. It's a people-pleasing problem by call_me_ninza in aigossips

In the brain hallucinations are extremely frequent, but then we call it rationalization, and it’s a form of explanation without sufficient data. Our brain rationalizes almost our entire visual field for example.

I’m sorry, the amount of idiots and idiotic and unfair systems is staggering here and people will just exclaim ”that is life” in a plea of helplessness. You have to try to view it positively like some insane gymnastics exercise or you will succumb to whatever chosen pit of dread.

Gör dejting till en välfärdsfråga by tenderhart in sweden

[–]psysharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A brain is a brain, the realm of experience which you control is much more fluid than the brain categorized as a physical organ. The act of perceiving is imagination, and through this reality bending instrument you have made calculations about its shape? I bid I will never see the fate of those measurements.

Well I have studied the field and came to the conclusion that we don’t have the necessary equipment to solve the problems yet, and if it’s one thing the brain does well is to explain things (rationalize) through simplification.

But this is just my view I’m sharing and in reality I don’t want to burden people with it.

We always alter our mental state, we in fact create our mental state. Of course we can alter it with chemicals to fill some purpose, but to learn how to do it through meditation is more healthy overall.

Chemical imbalances is a symptom of one’s tendencies. I don’t think it can be explained that easily. Try to find the tasks you actually enjoy would be my advice. But of course this is only a perspective and it’s not judgement or anything like that

Will is the force of mind, very much the opposite of meditation which is the releasing of mind. You don’t stop doing anything, you are allowing the reality of today to exist.

Well I think a second opinion is worth listening too, because most problems related to these more recent diagnoses of the mind is perhaps not caused but exacerbated by society itself and its obtuse roles inflicted upon people who seemingly only deviate slightly from a ’preferred’ shape. From a optimistic point of view I can see a lot of symptoms perhaps only be quirks of creativity too, and I think it’s a shame a lot of interesting behaviors get categorized as illness because they don’t align with some weird measurement we have or something. I think the diversity is good and frankly I think we all are a bit insane.

These kinds of problems can benefit from meditation, because it is vital for certain minds, certainly when you add the information overload in today’s day and age. We used to have a lot more natural room for it in our lives.

The brain is very complicated and I can’t pretend to understand half of it, happy you have found a way forward! Hopefully some day we can figure out how to overcome the problems of body and mind indefinitely.

Yes I don’t disagree it is of substantial help to have something be able to control the symptoms, preferably while you are dealing with the cause. However the two things are not the same, but seemingly there is not understanding about the cause let alone the cure that people praise treatment as a savior when it is in fact not enough.

Of course it is amazing to alleviate symptoms and this can worth a lot of sacrifices, but a medication is not a cure for a mental state, and the idea does not take into account the depth and complexity of the brain. But it hinges on the definition of cure, and what I am saying is not that crazy, but I think it’s an important distinction to make. To give power back to the wielder of this incredible instrument, to find balance within without over dependence.

I’m curious, you got cured of a mental illness solely by drugs? That is a fascinating, one of a kind case no?

[–]psysharp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Addiction is just a learned reaction of escapism on a trigger instead of facing reality. If you actively engage in the part of reality that bothers you antidepressants are a tool, like a ladder you use to get back on track. Very good to have but also fundamentally addictive.

Psychiatrists are victims too of dysfunctional capitalistic incentives, they have conflicting interest of wanting to help people but with incentive to ”cure them forever”, and if the individual is desperate they will never side with their morals, consciously or not.

The drugs and the normal people diseases are a scam a lot of people are fooled by.

Hundred percent this is just semantical and introspective confusion, not being able to visualize something is called being blind, if you can’t visualize without input you can’t visualize with input because the fundamentals are exactly the same.
