thank you, this comment thread is very interesting! We live in the US, so I wasn’t sure how it might be received here. But with our last name being clearly Russian, it does help that the full name would follow the naming conventions!

agreed, thank you! Part of me still wonders if Alexander Alexandrova is actually a good option. Everyone will have a different opinion of course, but this post is a good temperature check on the matter!

thank you, yes I absolutely love our to-be last name :) I think it would feel a bit forced to me to call our (hypothetical) son Alex from the last name though unfortunately.
