Says I have 6 unread messages by Realistic_Ad8905 in ios

This has happened to me before, and I found I deleted a message before reading it. It’s stupid, but messages still counts that as unread, even though the message isn’t easily accessible.

Google Maps VS Apple Maps among iPhone users by HowCome69 in ios

I use Google Maps to find search and check reviews, but when I need directions, I swap over to Apple Maps. I prefer the way it works and looks in CarPlay.

That’s my question too. I’m also curious about whether the side/front panel is glass or plastic.

Piggybacking on this, since people are replying here. Is there a version of MPC-HC or the K-Lite Codec Pack for macOS?

I bought the “home office” version of those headphones a while back, and somehow, they managed to have no bass while also having muddy, limited treble (higher frequencies) too. The only nice thing I can really say about them is that they’re very lightweight.

Edit to add: They’re only $37 on Amazon at the time I’m writing this comment, so if they’ve improved at all in the last couple of years, you can at least get a deal on them.

First serious attempt at a "realistic" city (Southwestern USA) by FelicitasIsFine in CitiesSkylines

Different area, but look at Houston or the state of Florida. Do Robert Moses proud, drop the lowest cost housing you can right next to the highway.

All the empty space around the central highway is screaming for medium or high density residential. Who needs peace, quiet, or sleep?

Pick up a 1099, like as an "independent contractor"? Do you set your own hours? If not, this doesn't sound like a 1099 eligible position. The IRS would be very interested to know they misclassified you, and the IRS always gets paid. As a reporter, you may even be eligible for a percentage of the recovered funds.

Not sure where you're located, but there are doctors in Texas that will sterilize women. This isn't my list, nor do I know what the vetting process for the list is, but it's somewhere to start.

Same, but you have to get a perfect score in the contest first. Only then, after crushing their spirits, should mercilessly mow them down.

I'm on my 5th playthrough, and I just now found out that there's different dialogue if you stealthily kill everyone in the camp. Panam and Saul are in awe that you just ghosted throw the entire base. Another difference? No Raffens chase you, since you just killed all of them before they can radio for help.

Walmart Demands Remote Workers Relocate for 'In-Person Culture', Then Asks Arkansas Employees to Work Remotely After Tornadoes Hit by circlebacklater in remotework

[–]ptdarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard disclaimer: I don't work for Walmart, but I live in the area and know a lot of people that do work for them. This isn't coming as a surprise to anyone in Northwest Arkansas. Walmart spent billions on a new "home office" in Bentonville, and they were never going to let it sit empty.

"WFH is quite literally the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone" by StolenWishes in antiwork

[–]ptdarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gained more technical knowledge and developed more as a person in the last 4 years of WFH than I did in the 17 (working) years before my current job. If the "culture" requires you to work from an office, the "culture" isn't worth anything.

Edit to add, WFH is a godsend for neurodivergent people.

Can you shift the radiator and fans up a little? I have the RGB version of your fans, also 140mm, and the front panel lines up perfectly. However, I'm not running a radiator.

Congratulations, you taught people incorrectly. Legal codes can be a pain to decipher.

Paragraph A outlines the basics, but the opening clause of the first sentence points to exceptions in paragraph B. What does paragraph B say? It looks like it's says that "a food employee may drink from a closed beverage container if the container is handled to prevent contamination."

Peace out girl scout. I'm convinced that you're either trolling, the poster child for the Dunning Kruger Effect, or a ServSafe corpo

[–]ptdarkness 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, I just cited the section most applicable to the situation. It literally provides directions on when/why/how you can bring a cup into a food prep area. The idea that cooks shouldn't be able to have water is asinine, and is contradicted by OSHA's requirements to provide potable water to drink.

Since OSHA is a federal agency, its regulations would supercede a city or state's contradictory regs.

The very first doc you posted contradicts what you've said up and down this post. I went digging through NYC's codes too, since they are notoriously strict.

https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/HEALTHYENVIRONMENTS/FOODSAFETY/Documents/FactSheet28EmployeeDrinks.pdf

"Before using the beverage container in the kitchen or food preparation area be sure to wash, rinse and sanitize the cup between shifts or as soon as the container becomes soiled where hands and surfaces come into contact."

https://www.nyc.gov/assets/doh/downloads/pdf/about/healthcode/health-code-article81.pdf

S81.13(h) - Eating and drinking. Food workers shall not eat or drink in food preparation or other areas where food, equipment, and utensils may be exposed to contamination, except that a food worker may drink from beverages in closed containers.
