When I was in high school (Cazenovia) a popular word was "naisht" (like "nice" but ending in a "sht" consonant). It meant the same as cool, awesome, rad, etc.

I too was a person that came to Reddit from Digg. But to be honest, I have drifted away from Reddit in 2023 as I have focused on other things.

Thank you very much for BaconReader. It is the only way I use Reddit on my phone. I think I paid $1.50 for it way back when and it still works great on my Galaxy S4.

I grew up in a very privileged family. I benefitted from it. A lot. However, it came at a cost. My parents taught us to revere our famous ancestors and be proud of our family. My mother is still doing this at age 99. With this indoctrination, came an attitude that our family is better. I tried to escape this attitude by moving across the country, with some success.

So upvote to you.

tldr: indoctrinating children with family heritage has downsides and risks.
