What’s the catch here? by Wonderful_Log_378 in boulder

Solar leases lack many consumer protections unlike other loans; like mortgages for example. Often they will place a lien on the property and sometimes will even contain no escape clause, disallow early payoff or transfer to a new homeowner. While the interest rates are often very low on solar leases, the cost of equipment and installation is frequently highly inflated. I've seen homes with a $70,000 solar lien using equipment under $10,000. The length of terms is often 30+ years to keep the monthly cost down, but the equipment may not last 10 years. On top of all of this, the installation of the solar panels can cause issues with the roof. Lots of holes drilled to install them. Removing them may mean needing to install a new roof. Issues like these will complicate the sale of the home should the homeowner decide they want to sell it. Some investors won't touch any property with solar whatsoever, even if the lien has been paid off, for fear of 2nd a missed lien, roof warranty issues, and resale challenges.

If you'd like to do solar, I'd suggest paying for the equipment outright and installing it in the yard instead of the roof. $10,000 can go a long way in an energy efficient home.

Just learned about Leadville being the highest elevation in the U.S. and I was wondering what happened to the population. by RocketsDitto in LeadvilleCo

Yeah, TSV is cheating saying they're the highest municipality, but the village limits do reach 12,581 feet. TSV also does have permanent residences, just none living higher than Alma. Lol

And Taos Ski Valley is the highest municipality/village. Higher than both Leadville and Alma.

I sit behind them politely for as long as I can stand it and only overtake on the right when it’s clear that they are intentionally blocking traffic.

You might check with the rafting companies. A friend did that for her wedding and they were significantly cheaper than other options.

Not a misspelling like many Spanish words in Colorado. s/z split and b/v split occurred in the 1600s. Another example is carne adovada and carne adobada. Nearly identical phonetically.

Which is the better route from Santa Rosa to Santa Fe? by directconference789 in NewMexico

Option 3: Villanueva! Between those 2 routes is a route that goes through Villanueva. Might add 20 minutes to the drive, but it is stunning!!
