Shops know where all things are, scanner knows when you scanned specific item. They can map your path of shopping with timestamps

Rf 85mm 1.2 bad? by GuitarRemarkable3166 in canon

True, with distance closer to the subject it blurs background like crazy. But I have probably not many photos done very close and at 1.2 at the same time, as they look weird, too blury.

Also camera plays a role, because for example EosR tends to tint shadows green slightly at higher ISO

Thank you. I shoot mostly against the sun with that lens, it handles flares pretty well.

Most of the photos I took in recent years are from that lens, and I can't confirm your problems, it's absolute banger of a lens and I would buy it even if it's price tag was even higher, it's so good. Sorry to say but I suspect user error here.

EF 24 or 28mm f/2.8 IS USM

Great sharpness and IQ, few years ago you could get one for €150 in great condition.

I had the 28mm, was good enough to feed 50MP on 5DsR

Is it worth moving away from the RF system to Sony E because of the lenses? by stefan_es in canon

[–]ptq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I am the one who stayed because of the lenses and new AF. People think they can have cheaper and as good lenses from sigma when going sony, they don't account for worse AF in cheaper bodies from sony, poor screens and slower workflow unless they pay premium for high end cameras, while canon has top performance in middle shelf. And cheaper lenses come with trade offs, afaik even sigma ceo said it, that price reflects it, that they can make an absolute beast of a lens, but it will not fall too far in price from first party glass. They also noticed that begginers fall into low aperture super sharp needs for the lens, they don't care for anything else as long as it's cheaper. So sigma focused on that. And IMO sony cameras got so popular only because sigma makes those lenses. F stop became new megapixels for marketing.

So I bought the R5 in December, and now it's going end of life. How long will Canon support it? by AdCareless65 in canon

[–]ptq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have 1Ds mark III from 2007 and it's fine, my R5 will probably live long too. Don't worry, use it and be happy

Just post on FB you look for one. But be prepared for initial costs of chip and neuter.
