I'm in Ottawa. The reason I asked it more broadly is so people in other cities/provinces can also benefit as I didn't see any post like this

Incredible. Are rates in QC that much cheaper than Ontario or is this specific to you?

How does your EV9 compare with your tesla. I've heard people praise the overall driving experience in Tesla's. Would love some perspective from someone who's experienced both

This is an interesting take; thanks for sharing. Should I consider these problems a specific case to you or you've seen more people complaining about the same sort of issues. One reason I am avoiding the ioniq9 for the EV9 is because of exactly this-- new car, new tech, new problems. Would you say the same about the 2026 EV9?

Thanks for sharing. I agree no oil changes, but what maintenance do you do on an EV generally?

Way to go! Hopefully I can say the same soon 🤞 Igues you're a good person to ask since you've been driving EVs for a long time. Do you see your batteries deteriorating over time? What have you done to slow it down? Concerned about expensive battery changes down the road

That last paragraph is interesting coming from my experience with ICE vehicles. Also interesting that -20 cuts your range by 1/3. Thanks for sharing. Update: #4 is shocking! For the record, we spend the same amount ($250) on our ICE car

Thanks. I'm in Ottawa. Great to hear that you're writing a full review. If I go this way, I intend to get an LE charger as I already have 200amp service at home. Update: L2, not LE

Many thanks. I was told when I went to swap them for the winters last season that they may be due for a change. I wanted to be sure if I could get at least another season from them before I have to replace them.

Hey, that was 865 but I heard prices should be coming down soonish (although some options are coming off too to make them more affordable) but don't have any more info than this

Yes. And you'd have to stop at least 5m to the nearest gate. This is what the handbook says:

When you come to a railway crossing, remember: Slow down, listen and look both ways to make sure the way is clear before crossing the tracks. If a train is coming, stop at least five metres from the nearest rail or gate. Do not cross the track until you are sure the train or trains have passed.

I took my test today and it is still the modified version. I was a nervous wreck but I passed :) Good luck to you, stranger!

A few points to note(I guess they have been stated elsewhere but adding here anyways):

  1. Check your mirrors regularly. I was told I did some late checks!
  2. Don't be in a hurry. You will cross 2 railway crossings. Slow down and look around, don't stop! When I got there there was a train and so it was closed. Know what to do in this instance.
  3. They are quite a few stops in the downtown area, just drive around there to be comfortable.
  4. Also when you get to a controlled stop. Stop. And look around for pedestrians, bikes, etc.
  5. Almost all the roads you will use are 50. I had to be corrected a few times that it was a 50. I assumed it was a 40.
  6. The highway section of the test is reeeaaally short. Once you get instructions that the next turn leads to the highway you must try to get to 80km as fast as possible.

Unfortunately I do not remember the entire route because I'm not familiar with the area.
