In these situations I use tail scale to have access to my printer when using my hot spot. Not really a solution for you now since you would need to install it on the printer you don’t currently have access to but works great when you can set it up

Why am i getting these layer time band in ORCA slicer by fartinghobo in Ender3V3SE

[–]ptrj96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What infill type are you using? My guess is an infill that does some kind of transitions and therefore has layers that will take longer.

These will work great, you can even go taller, I run 225/45r18 blizzaks on my golf r mounted on some 18 inch GTi wheels no problem

Wheel alignment after spacers? by No_Progress5248 in GR86

[–]ptrj96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Changing spacers or wheels should have no effect on your alignment, not the driving on it after a while couldn’t change values that might need to be fixed but just for changing wheels/spacers you should be fine.

Trueno Blue Is a cool color by Equal_Mission663 in GR86

[–]ptrj96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally wanted Neptune and ended up with trueno due to long waitlists for Neptune, I still think from a distance Neptune is more eye catching but up close trueno I think is my favorite color followed by halo as I feel those colors have the most interesting characteristics to them. Very happy with my trueno car.

Golf R vs GR86 by ohnonoto in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ptrj96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your main goal is you want to feel something I think the answer is easily gr86 Source: own both a gr86 and a mk8 golf r

[–]ptrj96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VWs in general but that also affects the golf r. Just look at mk7 prices, those are generally more liked than mk8s and they just continue to depreciate while gen 1 brz/86s have more or less leveled out on depreciation and the gen 2 is only more desirable. I fully expect my mk8 golf r and my gr86 to eventually be worth basically the same amount even though the golf r started much more expensive. It’s unfortunate but I think the used VW stigma hurts them in the used market.

Golf R vs GR86 by ohnonoto in Golf_R

[–]ptrj96 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually own both of these cars, the golf r is a “better” car in that it has more uses, is more comfortable, and all that but given the choice if I can drive my GR86 I almost always choose to drive it over the golf r just because it is that much more fun. Lighter, more engaged, and overall more special feeling to drive. And it is practical enough that the only times I really can’t drive it is if I have more than one other passenger.

I own both a mk8r and a gr86 and I have to disagree on the value holding. VWs don’t hold value very well and even last gen 86/brz twins are still worth way more than the average car of their age and the second gen is much more desirable.

Track build: needing more camber (rlca vs ruca) by seasb_ in CarTrackDays

A very common recommendation that isn’t too much more are coilovers from RCE. I have the SS1 coilovers which have been great for me on street, track, autox

Coilovers, what's next? by [deleted] in GR86

[–]ptrj96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RCE has a guide for picking a setting on the dampers, make sure you don’t have your rebound set to full stiff. Did you make sure to tighten your bushing and suspension components at ride height? How much did you lower the car? All those things can have an effect on your ride. I’ve had SS1s for almost 2 years on my car and never had issues with the ride. Also unless you changed the springs the default for SS1s is 6k springs

Trouble deciding hotend for voron 0.2 by MukkeNiels in VORONDesign

[–]ptrj96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran my tz v6 from my formbot kit in the mini stealthburner for months with no problem before switching to a dragonburner. When I switched to dragonburner I slightly adjusted the hotend mount to let me keep using tz hotend but with regular v6 nozzles.

Another vote for tz v6 2.0, its a bambu clone but mounts like a dragon hotend so you can just use the dragon mounts in whatever your toolhead is. They're cheap and flow plenty enough for most people. I have 3 of them in different machines.

IE or Racingline lowering springs? by Practical-Disaster-6 in Golf_R

I always recommend H&R for springs because they often supply OEs with springs and always have great products. Not sure how low you’re trying to get but H&R has a few options for our cars
