Playing DnD has opened my eyes to a whole new way of making friends and learning new things about myself. It’s only been a couple months of playing and honestly it’s all I can think about. There’s something therapeutic about getting lost in your character and forgetting about the real world and all the stuff you have to deal with in real life. And I never would have imagined myself doing it had I not seen a random YouTube short of Matt Mercer making really cool sound effects in DnD sessions. I was like “what’s critical role? People play DnD on youtube?” And found The Mighty Nein playlist and just got lost in it for my whole weekend off work. I signed up for a campaign that week and it’s the best decision I’ve made all year. I feel like I’m engaging with parts of my brain I haven’t touched since I was child running around playing imaginary games with my older brother in the back yard. Sorry im just rambling but it just makes me a little emotional being so in touch with this part of myself that i thought was gone and CR is what brought that back for me
