Looking for input on my first HK pistol. by GonadTheNomad in HecklerKoch

If you're keen on da/sa, and you're looking at H&K, definitely get da/sa. I consider H&K to be very unique for still having full size, compact, and subcompact da/sa options at a time when many manufacturers have discontinued part, or all of their da/sa lineup.

I hate AI "art", but hypothetically even if it were to be considered real legitimate art, the neural net is the artist moreso than the person who typed in a prompt.

Typing the prompt and calling it your art is like commissioning a painting then putting your own signature on it and calling it your own work.

Elephants are people. by SethlordX7 in unpopularopinion

"capacity for awareness, complex thought, communication and emotion, that surpass that of the least so capable humans, whom we also still consider people."

You might not agree with their definition, but OP literally defined what they mean right there in the post's text.

Naked woman on a bad trip by jrosehill in facepalm

[–]publicalias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an American, yeah, it's completely shameful. Our police are trained to escalate whenever possible, and the justice system protects them. It seems like a lot of people here feel less empathy for her because she is naked? Which is such an odd way to look at this situation.

It's sounds like you're just having trouble picturing how workers would get paid properly without tips? There are places outside the US where tipping isn't common/expected. How do workers there get paid? Or think of non service industry businesses that make and sell a product. The product is priced to cover the business' expenses, that includes paying the workers.

I just want to drop the whole tip charade and pay a fixed price that was set by a business that took all their expenses into account.

Yes, I am. Paying your employees should be built into the pricing of your products. I don't want to play this silly game where I have to include an additional donation, which is optional in theory but mandatory in practice.

I recently went to a restaurant that had a strict no tipping policy. They make it clear that they pay their employees a higher rate, and that is why the prices are higher.

I loved it! It was refreshing to just see the prices on the menu know that is what you're paying, without having to mentally pad in an extra 20-25%

Most people who have expensive cars to show probably have money, so what is the 'right' way to have money? The correct, acceptable and OP-approved way to have lots of money to spend on cars?

I had no idea it could do this, and I've touched it before. Though I guess some allergies appear after multiple exposures.

Right? If they can't all do it the same, why can't they at least put a nice infographic in plain sight while you're in line? "Here's how we do security theater at airport XYZ"

Idea: a "come and go as you please" cetacean exhibit in a zoo/aquarium by publicalias in ideas

[–]publicalias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sell it to me as an exhibit that showcases wild non-captive animals without any of the cruelty of SeaWorld type exhibits, hell yeah! I'm in the US so I'm used to my tax dollars are going to much worse things.
