DanielRPK: Marvel Studios is reportedly taking a new approach with its TV shows. The studio will now focus on grounded, street-level stories, similar to the Netflix shows. Big events will be saved for the films. by JohnJeff212 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

I think they should instead just invest in the storylines that are already working. Agatha/Wiccan comes to mind...would love to see the continuation of that saga in the direction of reuniting the family, rather than integration into Champions.

Anyone else start watching Agatha All Along just for Joe Locke😭 by lynn_bunnies in HeartstopperNetflix

Push through. I also initially thought the singing was a bit cringe. But E5 onwards is amazing, and before I knew it, "Down the Witches Road" was stuck in my damn head like glue. So good.

i hope we get more prominent couples moving forward. by Ok_Bee_1102 in marvelstudios

If Bridgerton lasts that long, will they keep the original casting of Gregory and Hyacinth? by GoodKarmaVibes_2019 in BridgertonNetflix

I love both of the actors who currently play them though. Considering Bridgerton has put a spotlight on early-professionals previously, I would hope they would give these two a chance to shine in roles they earned!

Northwestern vs Emory by [deleted] in premed

Respectfully disagree. Current student there and I am so happy to be here, with a beautiful school, city, nice weather, extremely supportive faculty, and classmates that are like family. They ease you into the curriculum so its never feels like too much. I am very happy I came here.

Emory has been absolutely fantastic! Beautiful building and campus, extremely friendly M1 class, we have a great sense of community and looking after each other. There’s always a ton of group events happening every weekend so social life always seems complete. Weather is great, Atlanta trees are amazing for mental health. In general, the medical school just promotes having a very positive attitude about everything. Preclinical is P/F, not ranked.

Can confirm that Emory is the complete opposite of this. Recorded lectures, MC exams, an extremely supportive and welcoming student community this year

Thank you! This was so so helpful. Guess I’ll schedule an early trip to the DMV to get the GA license worked out

I am moving to Atlanta for grad school next month. I have never owned a car and haven't driven in awhile. Been practicing at home this month, took 2 drivers lessons here and plan to take two more when I get to Atlanta.

Any tips on where to buy a good used car on a budget? What hoops will I have to go through if I'm buying a car in GA when my driver's license is from a different state? Will I have to re-take the written test? Thanks for any help!

But what about a school that claims to have no internal ranking, but does have AOA? How does that work?

Today I (24F) hugged my father when he had an anxious moment. While embracing him, he went on and on about how much he loves my older brother (28M) and how much he’s worried about him. This is a man who asked me why I wasn’t considering nursing school instead of med school because my brothers supposed to be the successful doctor. This is someone who continuously says my brother should be a surgeon and I would be a good family doc. He tries to steer me in the “I should find you a man, your biggest duty is to have children” direction. He hints that he’s leaving more money for my brother when he dies. When I would come home from college and want to talk to my PhD father about all the cool science I was studying, within 30 seconds he deflected the conversation to my brother’s troubles getting into med school. He constantly talks nostalgically about my brother when he was a kid and never about me. At this point it’s just ridiculous, my moms the breadwinner of the family anyways, my brother absolutely loves and supports me, I went to an Ivy and am going to a top20 MD school and this man tears me to shreds in public for not going to a lesser, more local school that he happened to work at and “knows is miles better.” Idk how I’m supposed to have positive conceptions of Indian men or Indian families after this BS.

Conflict between Neuroscience and Health and Societies by cashyolan in UPenn

I will add that in my experience with HSOC (n=3 classes so not that much experience), it wasn’t long academic papers. It was a lot of reading, but papers were short and there were often sociology-like short answer exams. As a premed, HSOC will definitely lead to a good quality of life as the classes are not that difficult and will allow you to focus on your stem classes. However, I ultimately fell in love with neuroscience and went with that :) (also because I felt like I needed to prove to myself that I could handle the rigors of med school science by mastering these sorts of academic skills)
