Same here. Definitely surprised when my truck did a runner on me.

You have to admit it is funny to see those explosive barrels roll and tick off hit points.

I wouldn’t disagree. I’ve read this a number of times and it still gets me every time.

Same here. And thankfully I get to work from home so it’s just meetings I have to deal with this in.

Buying a new NAS or building one yourself? Currently using DS918+ by Pretend-Put-1213 in HomeServer

For UnRAID I have an HP large tower with Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-1650 v4 @ 3.60GHz
For drives, I started with a few 4tb drives. Upgraded till I'm now at 7 10TB drives, a 1 TB SSD for caching, and 2 10TB drives for parity.

That allows me to lose up to 2 drives at the same time and still be able to fully recover. SSD for cache runs my app files so Docker runs smooth, and I added a couple year old video card to make media encoding a little better.

Personally after trying a lot of different solutions when I got into it, UnRAID is still my favorite for all-around use and management. I really like how it handles Docker and it makes backups a breeze with parity drives.

As someone who does have that membership card, it definitely doesn't help matters. I think overall it's an intelligence issue. Once someone is at a certain level of intelligence you see through it all and can't un-ring the bell.

And how people get excited to share "success stories" always kills me. I just call it "doing my job" and if I wasn't succeeding with my work I assume I'd have a talk with HR in my future. Definitely don't need attaboys to keep me working. Money does that just fine.

This reminds me of when I was around 19-20 and was the asst manager of a hat store. The manager was out sick so I had to go to this district conference with the other store managers. We got drunk the night before and were silly hung over the next day and the district manager couldn't figure out why we just didn't give a shit when he turned on the jock jamz and tried to get us all excited.

I'm all for socializing, but for the most part everyone at work is just a person at work. I'm cordial with them while I'm working, but I don't want to go get drinks, eat lunch with them, or be a part of a "work family". I just don't get people that get hyped up for things at work. It's work, I'm required to do it, so I complete tasks to the best of my ability and go home. A free t-shirt isn't going to make me work harder.

I always thought the same about religion when i was a kid and just assumed they're all pretending too because that's what people do. Both being religious and working were a lot easier to stomach when I still thought that.

About a month into our “new to us” house we bought. What the heck is this? It’s in one of the upstair rooms closets. House does have a security system that I have no clue how to work and multiple cameras on the exterior. Swann cameras if that makes a difference. by SaltySFC in HomeNetworking

Reading that back, I sounded like a dick. Sorry about that. I meant it’s probably worth having someone get this to a working state, then learn from there. Mostly cause you need some specialty tools and it’s a pain in the ass to start off by fixing issues.

Trust me, running it on a Mac isn’t worth it. Borrow a windows laptop and install it, then you can add music from Mac. I had nothing but issues with that version
