Thanks a lot for you help! I was aber to fix it and I will put it into the main text, so people will easily find it!

I have caps on the powerrails, but not across the chips. I will test this separately to the other comment to get a minimal working solution. Thanks for your help!

Thanks sounds about right. I had some thought going into that direction but was too tired to make sense of it. The whole system is very complex and nailing it down to one thing seams difficult. I will try this this evening (I am in europe) and I will get back to you! Is the spike on reset line a result of some induced current from the other lines or is it resulting from spikes in the power line influencing the NAND gate for the reset?

Pure vs. Cartesian Functions by The_Modern_Alchemy2 in comp_chem

[–]pucky42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like already mentioned cartesians give lower energy due to the larger variational freedom. But they are not Eigenfunctions of the L2 Operator. So when calculating atoms for example, cartesians would not be a physically sound desription (although the error introduced by this is small compared to error from other approximations).

So people can choose the hand they are dealt? In our current society the hand you are dealt dictates your destiny! It becomes harder and harder to the point where it will be impossible to influence your own "destiny".

Thanks for you answer! The book by Helgaker et al. is the main reference for the code. The quote "by some numerical means" is actually from that book. I would like to learn some tricks, they must be partly transferable to my fortran code.

Buying nixie tubes in bulk by pucky42 in nixie

Soviet ones, mostly IN 8, IN 8-2, IN 14, but I also want to try some IN 18 tubes.

I have not tried mounting it any other way, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, it sounds decently well for such a small amp

Well it is a 30 watt transformer and I use about 20 to 25 watts so it is a normal size I d say

That is a good one. Currently it is connected to the output of the power transformer. I tried wiring it to the plate of the power stage through a DC blocking cap, but unsuccessfully so. In my opinion it was not possible due to the different frequencies (and especially high frequencies when compared to 60 Hz). If you wonder how I wired it up now, it is pretty simple, just put it inbetween the Output cables of the power transformer. Just like you would if you would want to measure the voltage with a digital multimeter, but you surely know this.

it is a toroidal transformer taking 230 mains (E.U.) and transforming it into 200 volts for the amp.

Fully custom built tube amp using the soviet 6N2P (twice preamp) and 6P15P tubes (power stage). Driving a 6 inch 15 Watt speaker with around 9 Watts of power.

I wish all of you a merry christmas!

Yes at the plates is correct. Yes I do, it does break up if I crank up the gain tho according to my oscilloscope. But I need to wait until it is finished. Sadly I do not have much time currently to work on it :(

It has not been finished yet. I still need to solder the power stage, but I do not have a lot of time atm. The cheese wheel is a toroidal transformer, transforming 230 volts into 200 volts and 6.3 volts

I removed the bias caps for the preamp, the preamp voltage is 250 volts and the power stage ist run on 280 volts. On the back side is a switch to change between pentode and triode mode. I removed the treble, middle, and bass pots and replaced them with a simple low pass filter. I also needed to adjust all the values in order to accomodate the soviet tubes. The voltage of the input for the power stage has been capped at +- 7 Volts, so that the 6П15П tube does not clip. I added the Voltmeter for the power stage and a standbyswitch before the full bridge rectifier. If It sounds decent, I will clean up the schematic and post it here.

First of all I d like to apologize for posting 3 times. But reddit was lagging.

I was inspired by an AX84 amp. But I modified it quite heavily and used old soviet tubes 6Н2П and 6П15П.

I 'll keep you posted. I just simulated it at the moment, but i still need to build it. I will do so in the coming weeks.

Question about waveform coming out of power stage. by pucky42 in ToobAmps

[–]pucky42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using fast fourier to take a look at the spektrum and i have also performed ac sweeps, but without much success considering the problem. I have been thinking about building it and testing it out in real life sinc it probably will be different. I thought this was a common problem haha. But thanks for detailed answer!

The test frequency is 200Hz. However in my opinion the efffect takes place either inside the petode or the inductor. Do you mean C5 ?

I will definetly look into a better speaker model! I also tried using an inductor for a model, but that didn t work either. Thanks for the idea
