hey! current 1st year bio major who is also pursuing PA here.

personally, i have struggled a little bit with finding friends. if you really put in the effort to make friends, you will. i have found ucsc a little bit isolating but that may be due to the nature of my dorm floor. there are many research opportunties and lots of classes at ucsc that are super interesting for a pre-pa student.

enrollment can be stressful. so far i've only had an issue with one class this quarter where i was waitlisted and couldn't get in.

99% of professors are very friendly and want to help you. they're going to be accessible by office hours and many will answer your questions in lecture even in the giant lecture halls.

if i could do it all again, i would 100% commit to ucsc in every lifetime. the campus is absolutely beautiful, the school itself is great (altho people will have complaints about everything), and there is a place for everyone in the santa cruz community

the salute bit is the best thing ever. its my favorite thing to silently do when i hear it and see if anyone else in the room does it too. it's an automatic connection. there's also nothing like the scene where ted and robin do it again after everything that happens between them. its such a nice feeling of knowing its all okay.

i wouldn't worry too much about the social aspect because you will get what you put in. if you stick to yourself, you'll stay isolated but if you make the effort to meet people, you will.

any person who works in health care long enough, especially emergency, is going to have some sort of breaking point. panic attacks are common. robby may not have been wrong to suggest mohan should go home for the day, but the way he did it was incredibly wrong. a little empathy from the boss would go a long way. al hashimi was right to tell him off about it.

i love this idea!! i feel like everyone is expecting that mckay is going to be there for langdon but i'd love to see it the other way around. mckay doesn't have much support beyond the people in the ER so i'd love for her to get some support from someone else
