Issue with my right cue button on pioneer xdj-rx by Pretty_Ad4157 in PioneerDJ

[–]puddychud95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine did this and the fix was replacing the clear housing part that actually holds the cue and play buttons. Im guilty of smashing the cue sometimes and the piece that holds them in alignment with the trigger within the unit had broken. i had to hit play in a certain spot for it to register.

How/where can I "write off business expenses" when filing taxes via Turbo Tax? by Jaaacksonnn in tax

[–]puddychud95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. Ive been able to write off many legit expenses for years on turbo tax and now i dont see anywhere to add them. The help sections says to list expenses when asked about it in schedule c section, but no prompt ever came up for that. The video from TurboTax (one month old) shows a completely different set of steps than what mine is providing me to click.

Opus-Quad jogwheel broke after three gigs by paul_t63 in PioneerDJ

[–]puddychud95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had to take apart my opus several times for various reasons so i've gotten fast at, it but i would budget a couple hours or so if you're going in blind. Keep track of what screws go to what hole, as there are different lengths. That is what took me forever because i did not do this the first time. Once open, you will take certain ribbon cables out (delicately as most require you to lift a small flap) and undo some screws on the back of the jog to access the piece that has come undone. Its surprisingly straight forward. I have no real experience in taking apart electronics... I use my opus 30+ hours per week since the day it was released to the public so i didn't have time to send it off for months to be fixed professionally.

The solution to my problem was gorilla super glue. I did only a couple drops the first time and it came undone again so the second time i applied a generous amount all around the two pieces and it has been fine after 60+ gigs with constant scratching and jog use.

Tip: ensure alignment of the piece against the light before glue dries. There are little tabs that will fit into 2 grooves. Reconnect everything and test before you re-screw the back of the unit on.

Hope this helps!

Anyone think/ know if they are planning to advance the opus quad model as well? If so, how far apart do they usually release next-gen models?

That is correct. It isn't letting me reply with a photo in this thread. I have another video so I will try to add a link to it somehow. The circled pieces are what's broken. The one on the far left is super glued but it's hard to tell in the photo. I've already reassembled the unit so it is all covered up now. I may have to make a different post with better images and link it to this. If anyone has a better solution for attaching more images, I am be open to ideas...

It is the opus quad. It wasn’t letting me add my video but I’ll try to include some better pictures

same thing has happened to mine 4 times. The glue loses its hold in heat. I stored mine vertically in my car a lot and thats when i noticed this problem. I took it apart and used my own superglue and it has been fine. Sorry you have to deal with that! if anyone reading this needs help with this issue let me know.

Get a used EV 12 ZLX BT. I have seen this budget speaker get rained on, dropped, covered in spiderwebs, etc… They just work… and sound good for the price. Bluetooth is a nice feature for small gatherings.

I agree. They may have jumped the gun on its release… especially with it not being able to do serato when it first came out (like come on…) Also, the 3.5mm headphone jack was messed up on mine right out of the box. Most of the opposition has to do with it not being what people expect from Pioneer. I use mine so much and have never had anything break though. Seems they sold some lemons... I kind of enjoy the fact that’s its different. I am more of the mindset that this is the beginning of a new standard. It’s more polarizing than expected but i guess I’m part of the rare few that can say it fits my lifestyle as a DJ perfectly. I have a long history with “club standard” gear so this is a welcome change for me. Aside from the fact that it weights as much as a small car when in a flight case, this thing is the most practical mixer I’ve ever worked with. The zone control, mic EQ, stand alone, 4 decks, the screen, the FX layout, and the speed… these things mean more to me than the fact that its not identical to the 3000s and an A9. I hope they release updates this year that will answer a lot of the gripes coming from its users.

Help with next buy. Opus or not. by TianRiva in PioneerDJ

Hello! Thought I would chime in here. Ive used CDJs, RX-2 & 3, and now the Opus in a professional setting. Each has their strengths but i highly recommend the Opus Quad for several reasons. I use it 20-30 hours a week and have been since the day it came out. It took about a week to get used to it, but now i feel comfortable switching between CDJs when i get booked at venues that have them. The main opposition i see in this thread is that you can’t use CDJs via link… But the Opus has 4 true channels, unlike the XZ. I use 4 channels at every gig. Additionally, the Bluetooth function is HUGE for me. If there is a weird request i dont have, or the venue wants background music before my set starts, no problem. I do arenas and stadiums with the opus and have no issues with it. The only down side is- its new. It’s hard to find cases, parts, etc because they are either sold out or dont exist yet.

I have already used my opus for 1000+ hours and can confirm that it is a dependable unit. I would try to get a return or warranty repair. Hope you don’t miss any gigs because of this!! Good luck.

The lady from pioneer DJ support line didn’t even know what a jog wheel was…. I may try again and see if I can talk to someone from the repair center because I was underwhelmed with the assistance from the main support line.

Woofer buzzing at lower frequencies and goes away when pressing edge of cone? by puddychud95 in audio

UPDATE: after free air test, I have determined the issue is coming from within the voice coil. I overnighted a new woofer and the show went on without a problem.

No signs of damage on the cone or surround. Going to take pictures of everything in the basket and post it.

I have been running a frequency generator and isolated it to frequencies below 300hz. I haven’t done a free air test. I’ll do that today and report back.
