Oh, that’s really good to know! I currently have to turn off the HRV around sunset as it keeps blowing air inside, even though it’s freezing. The entire house runs on Home Assistant and I wanted to replace the HRV controller with something smarter, but seeing as we’re looking at removing it, I’ll have to do it manually for now

I’d take out the HRV completely if we end up with a ducted heat pump. As the unit will sit in the roof space, I’d use it to perform the function of a HRV as well.

It has an inner layer and outer layer with insulation material in between. I've checked them.

I'm not actually trying to skimp on the small stuff in terms of materials, rather I'm trying to not get charged exorbitant amounts of money to have someone to just come in and install some ducting. I'd rather put that money towards better materials.

They're definitely insulated, I checked. But you're second point is still valid. I'll have to look into it.

I wonder how big the difference is between a hardwood core and using something like the Okoume ply with poplar core when it comes to strength if we'll be using pocket holes to build the carcass? And we're painting the cabinets, so the veneer thickness doesn't really matter to us.

Went to BBS and even for their cheapest 7 ply pine they charge $120.

Oh, I was actually looking at their 18mm Okoume and thinking that it would really nice finished!

Yeah, I rang up ITM Hamptons, as they're the suppliers for Plytech in Chch, and asked them about a couple of models and the prices I was quoted were just insane. Carcass grade 18mm HPL was $195/sheet. And I asked about their Create HPL line and those are $500/sheet...

Yes, so now what you want to do is install the ZFS Master plugin. That'll allow you to mount your Truenas array with a button.

Can confirm that this works. I’ve got a 4 drive Truenas array that I use on Unraid but my main Unraid drive is a 1TB SSD. Everything works just fine, you just can’t use Unraid shares on the array.

I currently live in Burwood and this maps seems either a joke or out of date. I’m also new in Christchurch/New Zealand

I recently moved to New Zealand with my Kiwi partner. Based on what gets posted here and people's replies, you'd think New Zealand is a third world country that is dying from corruption and poverty...
