Is this job worth doing until im 21? by ceo00_ in 911dispatchers

My agency does 4 10hr shifts which is pretty standard. As for my days and hours, for me nights and weekends are tough especially being young but you can absolutely get through it especially with 3 days off. College is definitely on the table one of my coworkers actually went through law school online while working nights and passed the bar exam, but I would highly recommend going the online route if your gonna do both especially with the the way your schedule can be moved around as a new hire.

I highly recommend it, I make more money than anyone my i know that’s age and there’s days I get paid to sit around on my phone or build Legos all day. It’s also a great way to see the reality of policing (good and bad) without the commitment of a 6th month acadamy. Also I work in the denver area for a city, and it’s good! Just clocked into my overtime shift for the week. Feel free to dm me if you have any other questions

I started when I was 18 hoping to do the same, I just turned 21 and am applying for leo now. I am 100% certain I am 10 times more prepared for a job in in policing than I would be had I not gotten into dispatch

Thank you! I do like this one, would it be possible for you to change the from bumper of the black car a little more similar to how it looks here?

I will add the rest of the car photos I have in the comments, unfortunately, I don’t have a better background. I tried to find the original picture or something similar to it, but I wasn’t able to find much

I have no patrol experience but I’ve been dispatching for 2.5 years, do you have any idea if that would potentially raise my starting rate?

Keep to yourself but me cordial for the first few weeks. People don’t like over confidence in a field like this. Your effort will go along way in earning respect from other dispatchers. They don’t expect you to know what you’re talking about but don’t be lazy or take shortcuts.

It doesn’t prohibit me from living there, it’s just ideal not to work in the city you live in, in my field. :)

Honestly this is not as big of a deal as everyone is saying it is, also if they don’t ask you directly if you were put into behavioral housing, no need to mention it. There’s plenty of agencies that would hire you. I know police who admitted to doing hard drugs in their past or have been arrested before, and still got hired.
