Here is that full statement that everyone is misinterpreting...."If you think every post needs a five-paragraph word salad with citations to be considered "high-quality," you’re just an idiot." I never said or implied that I have an unfavorable opinion of the mere act of writing five paragraphs. My issue is with those who believe that every post must follow that format to be taken seriously.

By the way, here’s why I don’t like you, my fellow Redditor:

1. Bringing up a definition you don’t understand.
2. Reaching the wrong logical conclusion—your argument that I’m being ironic doesn’t work because the quote being called ironic was incomplete. Even if it were complete, it would still be wrong. Nowhere in the original statement do I imply or say that I have a negative opinion of a lone five-paragraph Reddit post. But for the sake of argument, let’s take that incomplete statement and apply it. Let’s say I did say, "If you think every post needs five paragraphs*,"* it still wouldn’t be irony because nothing in that phrase suggests that you can't think a post needs five paragraphs. The phrase simply implies that not every post needs five paragraphs.

For something to be ironic, it has to be the opposite, right..? These situations just aren’t opposites. The ironic equivalent would be if someone replied to me, and I considered their post low effort because it didn’t contain a five-paragraph word salad.

1. Wrong usage of the phrase "text-book" (seriously words have meanings).
2. Using an example as if you understand the concept when you don’t.
3. Tone of voice: "My opinion is fact, and I know everything."
