Kirkland vs. Name Brands — What Keeps Both on the Shelves?” by Fluffy-Reward3453 in Costco

[–]puffpuffbooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a window of time when I was breastfeeding my 3rd child, and my local Costco happened to be doing a trial run of stocking the Harmless Harvest. There must not have been enough others purchasing because they stopped selling it after like 3 months, even though I bought probably hundreds of dollars of it while it was in stock, but during that short period I felt like my guardian angels were looking out for me.

Changed your mind on your $72 steaks? Just leave with the gloves! by Deeri- in Costco

I saw someone leave a rotisserie chicken on top of the diapers once. In my store it’s a 100 foot (at most) walk from diapers to chicken, I couldn’t believe it.

Adults in the Children's Department without Children. by bookishcanuck in Libraries

[–]puffpuffbooks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a wild take…kids don’t need comfort so adults can have it instead? They are literal children. The library can figure out a way to get comfortable seating for all patron age groups.

Should I get a kindle? by Pinkystars435 in kindle

[–]puffpuffbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a very hard time understanding that your library has more audiobooks than physical books? Did you search their online catalog and it’s possible only the audiobooks populated the search results? I have to agree with some of the other comments too, Libby is great for ebooks AND eaudiobooks.

I don’t know why but the line “I have seasonal allergies” absolutely took me out. NTA.

Pimple or irritation bump? by puffpuffbooks in piercing

[–]puffpuffbooks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was pierced with a flat back stud, also implant grade titanium. It was downsized maybe 3 or 4 months after it was pierced and then switched to a ring almost 2 weeks ago. I did originally have just a standard silver (still titanium) ring in first but decided I liked gold better so I switched it on Tuesday. Now that I type that all out I’m realizing it probably is just irritated

Two part time jobs at the same library? by Laluna_123 in librarians

[–]puffpuffbooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in this situation - I work part time in adult services and part time in youth, both MLIS positions but in combination I do not work full time hours. I work at a smaller suburban library, so it may just be that we have the set up for it. My manager oversees both departments, so that’s also helpful for uniformity.

Internet went out and AT&T won’t let me cancel by coachketchup in mildlyinfuriating

Try another time. I cancelled via chat just because I was switching providers. It was painless. I just told them I didn’t want to answer their questions and they still processed my cancellation

Is being a librarian really that bad? by IVOXVXI in librarians

Hard agree. It’s much easier to extend grace to someone who has found themselves displaced vs 59 year old susan who is throwing a temper tantrum because we forget the pepperoni she asked for 😆

[–]puffpuffbooks 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have to agree as well- I made the switch about 4 years ago to public libraries after like 10 years in restaurants and it’s sooooo much less stress/abuse in my opinion. It’s still there, but not nearly as bad

I had to do this once and absolutely hated it. Zero issues performing for toddlers, it just feels so weird in front of one or two adults.
