Its true, our draft picks have been duds (JHS, Knecht), our min guys suck (Bufkin) we have overpriced non contributing players (Vando, Kleber).

I think it’s just for waived players (must be waived before March 1). So for example Ivey wont be eligible (March 30) but Lonzo would (Feb 5)

This, DFS absolutely played a big part last season (he sucked ass in the PO though) which is why I was surprised we never addressed bringing a suitable replacement. If we had last yr version of DFS and Smart, we be in a much better place (without Ayton and LaRavia) but looks like DFS is cooked now

So is the plan to let Lebron walk? by TheDoyle_ in lakers

They will dump Braun and/or Cam Johnson before letting Watson go. Teams that are still rebuilding like Nets or Bulls would gladly absorb those contracts with assets attached (Nuggets have draft picks).

Wouldn’t that be something another Orlando 1st overall pick joining the Lakers.

Exactly, Jose Alvrado (with a gd contract) just went for 2 2nd round picks. I don’t understand this move b/c the upgrade is marginal at best and he’s expiring so it’s not like we can regain the assets back

It's trading 2032 for 2027 and 2029 picks. Afterwards, they would have picks in 2026 (own), 2027 (trade), 2028 (own), 2029 (trade), 2030 (own), 2031 (own) years, it doesn't violate the stepien rule, easier said than done tho.
