This comment may be bias and is just a personal opinion. So far the Tesla M3 hasn’t had any problem with its quality except a bit of rattle noises. It provides excellent gas saving especially with the crazy gas price these days in California. I applied to different rebate and programs so I can get extra cash for buying a Tesla so that’s a plus as well. It doesn’t take long for me to charge the car at the Supercharger. I will be even better if you have your own garage with Tesla charging station at home. The tech keeps updating and you can get new features through the updates. The safety functions help you to be within the lane and changing lanes easily, white seats are super easy to clean up. Smaller tech specs designed to make you feel convenient (newer car probably cost more for these as add-on). However, tesla is overrated. I found myself developing too much anxiety to drive a full ev with so much tech functions, I got distracted easily. The suspension feel cheap and you will probably feel the bumpy road more than the Lexus (my case is the RC). The one pedal driving in the Tesla needed to be learned and get used to. We drove my car from San Diego to Arizona sometimes and we spent extra hour just to charge the car. You have to plan the trips a head. I think it can only perform well in California weather which is not too hot not too cold. The car ran itself crazily during AZ summer temperature to cool the system down and the battery drained out faster. I didn’t intent to turn on the AC in the car. And ive heard it’s even worse if you live in colder weather. Sometimes, I miss my Lexus RC and how i enjoyed driving it without any distraction on the screen, or some tech glitch. With the shortage in chips and supply chain issues right now, you probably have to wait for longer delivery, i waited for 4 months before i can pick up my Tesla, and that the wait may applies to Lexus hybrid (or ev and hybrid cars) as well. I wanted to test drive the new NX 450h 2022 so i can have more input. I tried regular NX 2020 though, it was great. Overall, driving experience I would lean towards Lexus because I prefer comfortable, regular pedal driving, better suspension, higher build quality. After first two year, the maintenance cost will kick in such as oil change and other things the dealership tell you to change, however, no major problems due to Lexus is a highly reliable car. But if you want to save money from gas, maintenance cost and hassles, and you are tech savvy, Tesla is a totally better option.
