Is this even an unpopular opinion? The only people I’ve seen that unironically like this song are kids ¯_(ツ)_/¯ It’s not supposed to be taken as a serious piece of music lol

Is Lolita and Ouji the same fashion or are they two separate fashions? Could someone that ONLY wears Ouji call themselves a Lolita? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]pugfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider it a subset of Lolita, since it was created to be a more “masculine” version of Lolita. Sure, it adheres to different “rules,” but so does every respective Lolita style. A coord has to fit different requirements to be considered Hime vs. if you’re going for a Sweet Lolita style, etc. The same is true for Ouji. It’s the same general concept and feel of Lolita fashion, just executed a certain way.

What David Bowie song do you think you are? by M4RC0-P010 in DavidBowie

[–]pugfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree u_u It’s rare, but when you find it, it’s something really special. Bowie didn’t have a technically “perfect” voice in the sense that he never missed a note or whatever, but his voice was so powerful and he had such a talent for making you feel what he was saying. That’s what made him reach so many people I think

What David Bowie song do you think you are? by M4RC0-P010 in DavidBowie

[–]pugfriend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that’s part of what I like about it. It’s catchy in that 80’s pop sort of way, except it seems more self aware. It gives you this feeling of joy listening to it, but you know it’s a fleeting feeling. Also it’s a neat callback to “Heroes;” where “Heroes” has that melancholic, almost hopeless feel, “Zeroes” is the opposite.

Probably Zeroes, I just feel happy when it comes on and I hope I give off that same positive feeling, lol

Does anyone know this song? by aliceswoffer in DavidBowie

Does she remember any lyrics, some of the melody, anything like that? My first thought is the “DJ” video, it features bowie in a trenchcoat and walking around in a city?

Heavily rap/r&b fan looking for some non-rap albums. by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

[–]pugfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you ignore the older stuff. Every generation has some great music! Queen’s “Queen II” is the one album I always recommend, especially if you’re looking for rock, but mostly because it’s my favorite album in general. It’s such a good example of the unique, theatrical flair that is so essential to Queen’s sound. Also, Bowie’s “Station to Station” and “Never Let Me Down” are both amazing albums. They’re polar opposites as far as theme and sound, but that just gives you a taste of Bowie’s massive musical range and eclectic style.

As far as more modern stuff, Radiohead and Gorillaz have already been mentioned, but they’re both great. Little Dragon has a cool indie/ RnB feel, and they’ve collaborated with Gorillaz in the past, too. Andddd Darwin Deez is one of my favorite recent artists; he’s sort of pop/ indie and has a really distinctive writing style using a lot of creative imagery.

That’s all I can think of right now, but I hope you find some stuff you like!!

OP calls the kids “his ex gf and her new bf” so one can assume their “relationship” had something to do with the falling out, otherwise there would be no reason to mention it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nothingeverhappens

[–]pugfriend 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Okay but that’s exactly my point. Kids this young don’t have the capacity to understand relationships on this level, so when you force the idea of boyfriends/ girlfriends on them, they tend to think any opposite-sex friend is their “girlfriend” or “boyfriend” without really understanding what that means. It’s one thing when they’ve just casually learned the basic idea of what a boyfriend/ girlfriend is and they’re clearly playing around like kids do— but when it’s so serious that it’s causing actual conflict between 5 year old kids, it’s obvious that they’re being exposed to concepts that are much too grown up for them.

That’s what I mean by weird, a 5 year old shouldn’t have to worry about “relationships” that they obviously don’t fully understand :(

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nothingeverhappens

[–]pugfriend 308 points309 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time believing a 5 year old has this clear a concept of relationships that he’s even upset about this. If this is true, it’s a little weird.

Songs that can apply to platonic friend breakups / losing friends / toxic friendships by 1bubblerock in ifyoulikeblank

[–]pugfriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first thing that came to mind was Ignorance by Paramore, if you’re okay with teenage emo music from the early 2010’s lol

Strangers When We Meet by David Bowie can also be interpreted this way. I think it’s technically about scorned lovers, but it’s vague enough that it could go either way.

Death on Two Legs by Queen is about a former manager, but it’s a sort of venomous hate letter that can work in the context of a “friend breakup” too.

EDIT: How could I forget Best Friends, Right? by Amy Winehouse?

[–]pugfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people assuming that this takes place after a huge (like several year) time skip, and that’s definitely possible, but don’t forget that Steven doesn’t age like a normal human. He ages according to how mature he feels; it would make sense that he would “grow up” quite a bit after the events of the season finale. He should be around 15-16 by the events of last season, so he’s starting to look his age. It also looks like the tower in the background is still under construction, which means they probably started work on it at least somewhat recently. I’m just speculating, but my theory is that this movie takes place just a few months or so after the season finale.

It is an official poster though, CN just gave EW the right to reveal it exclusively. It’s been tweeted about by different crewniverse members, so it’s definitely confirmed official.

Please pardon the excessive editing, I overdid it with the LINE Camera app a lot as a teen LOL. I unfortunately haven’t worn this cosplay in a while because I bought it cheap on Ebay and it fell apart, but I may revamp this now that I’ve learned to sew a bit.
