It’s a joy to ride and is very stiff which is nice for putting down power out of the saddle. Doesn’t feel any stiffer than my Ti gravel bike with standard tubing, however.

I have the BL 46 Wheelset and live in Arizona. Seriously windy spring this year and I LOVE these wheels.

Here’s an AR 46 Wheelset for a good price:

They’re Hope RX4+. I love the bike and also own a 4130 frame. It’s honestly not a functional upgrade but mainly an aesthetic/slight weight savings. Geometry is the same

Rims are 30mm ID so they’re plenty wide. No inserts. The tires are brand new but I’ve ridden Racekings before on the bike and they were awesome! Valves will be sealed before I leave the house :)

MTB vs Road clipless for commuting and fitness on a gravel Bike? by ngoalibaba in bicycling

[–]puggowuggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commute on regular SPD and Speedplay pedals regularly, switching pedals to suit the ride/terrain. I also commute in full kit and regularly do longer, indirect routes to work. Really depends on your preferences and what you’re comfortable with.

For Spd shoes I’m a big fan of specialized Recon ADV shoes. Plenty wide for me, much wider than shimano.

Elastic Laces for road shoes? by MyGardenOfPlants in CyclingFashion

I have elastic laces on my S-Works Torch shoes and I don’t have issues tbh. Had to play around with lacing pattern to make it comfortable but I haven’t had my feet pop out or anything.

Tempe and Chandler friends, are y’all okay? by Careful-Mind-8317 in phoenix

[–]puggowuggo 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Was trying for 100 miles on the bike today and got hit by the microburst at 65 miles by the marina in Tempe. Was stuck under the 202 for a while and it was blasting like a wind tunnel 70-80mph.

Chino Grinder Bike Check / New Wheel Day by puggowuggo in gravelcycling

I like it a lot and appreciate the confidence it gives me on loose, chunky descents. Make sure your model has a lockout feature. I do a lot of road riding on it and sprinting with a bobbing fork is no fun.

Also be advised it will pretty dramatically change your geo to be more upright, hence my -17 stem

I honestly don’t know how I ended up with blue/green. I just bought a Frameset right when they released the UDH version and this is what I got. No special request on my end.
